Damn..it's so heart wrenching to see him leaving her like that..I know for obros there's nothing more important than their brothers..but does it mean he has the right to make her suffer every time...?? He has some responsibility of being Gauri's husband just like he has towards his brothers..I adore obros bonding from the starting of the show..but the Rikarian in me isn't ready to accept that he could leave her just to punish his mother for letting his brother go away..as you're continuing it, can we get a Kara realizing his wife's importance in his life..?? All that I want after reading this is Omkara to realize Gauri's value...she has always been the strongest woman before him..but even she feels pain whenever she has to sacrifice her happiness for others...
Apart from all this I just want to say you were amazing while writing this...looking forward to the next part..

Om reaction to shivay's exile is going to be similar I guessGood work
A/N- This is the best that I could do with this chapter😔. Anyways Aayat is my favourite song and I have always imagined Rikara with this song during a separation track. Er- is anyone interested in making a VM on that idea?
Ok I've sort of provided the youtube link to the song which you can listen to while reading .So if you can, listen to the song when you see the link because I think it adds something to the writing. I tried to embed the mp3 but it proved too much of a hassle so i dumped the idea😳. Either ways, if this scene was played out in IB that's when the song starts.
Thank you so much for the likes and comments!
Vanvaas-The Separation
The phone barely had time to ring before it was answered.
"O?"
Om's fingers stilled at the sound of his voice.
"Rudy", he replied with a fair assumption at cheerfulness. "How are you all?"
For a moment the line crackled and buzzed while sounds of someone talking in hushed accents on the other end made its way to Om's ears. A second later Rudy's voice was back on, sounding subdued but fairly normal. Or as normal as it could be considering the circumstances. The sound of it lightened the weight on Om's chest a little.
"Teek hai. Dadi is doing allright and so is Choti maa." There was a pause. "Chulbul bhabhi is fine too. Saumya takes good care of her".
A breath he didn't realize he had been holding left him at that.
"Thank you", Om replied, hoping that his baby bro would understand the heartfelt gratitude behind those two words.
"How are you O?" Rudy's voice was serious. Om nearly smiled. He knew that his answer was as much for Rudy as it was for the small woman listening in. As if he hadn't realized that Rudy had turned the speaker on. Sometimes the bhabhi-devar combo was adorably transparent.
"Fine Ru", he answered, biting his lip at the muffled commotion on the other end of the line. There was another pause.
"Are you having your meals on time O?" Rudy asked finally in a voice that made it clear that he wasn't happy to be doing so. Om nearly chuckled. Even if he hadn't already figured out about the speaker-phone, that question was a dead giveaway that Gauri was listening in. It had Gauri Kumara Sharma stamped all over it.
"Yes you duffer", Om replied fondly, greedily listening to the second round of muffled whispers. At times like these he missed home with an almost desperate ache. From the noise, he was pretty sure that it wasn't just Rudy and Gauri on the other end of the line. An image of Ru and Gauri huddled around a phone with Dadi and Somu materialized in his brain almost making him chuckle.
"Did you find anything O?"
And just like that he had fallen back to earth.
"Nothing Ru", Om sighed, rubbing his temples with his free hand to ward off the now familiar headache. "I have talked to almost all of bhaiyya's business contacts and friends in India and none of them have a clue as to where bhaiyya and bhabhi are right now. I am thinking of contacting his international business partners next". Shivaay had certainly kept his promise to their mother in a spectacular fashion, Om thought bitterly. Too bad he hadn't bothered to keep his promise to his two brothers as well.
"Did you follow up on the leads Bhavya gave you?"
Om gave a half-smile. Poor Rudy. While each successive failure had broken Om's spirit a little more, it had made Rudy's faith only deepen. Shivaay bhaiyya and Anika bhabhi will come back, he had declared stubbornly when Om had openly wept after a particularly heartbreaking failure. They just needed to keep faith. Rudy had even managed to get Bhavya to help them out although truth be told Bhavya hadn't needed much convincing.
"A few Ru", Om replied, trying hard to sound upbeat. "A couple of them actually seem promising".
"I told you so!"
Om chuckled at that, a genuine one. The muffled whoop on the other end of the line had just as much to do with it as Rudy's delighted voice. For a moment, he closed his eyes and pictured her dancing around his younger brother in glee.
"O?"
Om's eyes snapped open.
"Still here Ru", he sighed. "Just-thinking "
"So help me god O, if you are shayariying right now, I will KILL you."
"Hey!" Om couldn't help but let out an indignant grunt at that. Ok so maybe he did have a tendency to compose shayari's incessantly but... well- Rudra was his younger brother and it was practically his obligation to listen to them. He told him as much.
"Seriously???" was his ungrateful younger brother's response. Om couldn't help but grumble beneath his breath. Some people weren't worthy of art. Judging from the noises, it wasn't just his idiot baby bro. He could distinctly hear two separate giggles and a muffled choke which he was almost sure was Dadi. He sniffed although a smile tugged at his lips.
"Fine", he grumbled. "I was thinking about you-you idiot".
"Me?"
Rudy's startled voice made Om frown. Had things got to such a point that the fact that his elder brothers worried over him was now news to Ru? He paused for a moment, choosing his words carefully.
"Of course", he finally said in a tone which was kept carefully light. "I was just thinking about how proud Shivaay would be of you. How proud I am of you. You are taking care of the company, the family, my...everything and you are doing such an amazing job of it Rudy ...I don't know whether to be proud or grateful to you , you-you duffer". Om paused again, emotion clogging his throat and preventing the words from coming out. Their Rudy had come a long way, he suddenly realized. Ru had been Om's source of strength through all of this and the occasional paparazzi photo of Rudra Singh Oberoi accompanying his bhabhi, Gauri Singh Oberoi was something that gave him immeasurable comfort. Om couldn't help but let out a huff of laughter. He would never in his wildest dreams have ever imagined that Omkara Singh Oberoi would end up becoming a tabloid addict in order to catch a glimpse of his wife.
"I had the best teachers, O".
Rudra's tearful whisper snapped Om's attention right back to the conversation. "I know duffer", he replied lightly, trying to bring the conversation back to a less emotional plane. "Shivaay's going to remind you of that every single day when he comes back".
That got him a watery chuckle. "Just as long as he does come back", Rudy replied wistfully. "And you too, O. I miss both my brothers."
Damn Rudy. Om shifted in his seat, trying to tamp down the raw grief. Grief that he had been sure that he had locked away but which was now rearing its head and mocking him with its unbridled strength.
"Ru, I gotta go", Om said hastily, trying to cut the call before things got out of hand. It wouldn't do to break down in front of Rudy and ...others. It was the least he could do for them.
"Teek hai bhaiyya".
The forlorn note in Rudy's voice made Om blink furiously. This wasn't how it was supposed to be. They were all supposed to be together-happy, laughing, a united family. Instead...
"You don't have to worry about me O. Chulbul Bhabhi is taking good care of me".
That did it. He needed to cut the call now.
"I'll talk to you soon Ru. And- and tell...everyone that I love them very much. And that I think about...them- every day, every second and and even when I dream, I dream of...them. And I am coming back soon with bhaiyya, bhabhi and a box of Bareilly laddoos".
Om hastily turned the call off but not before he heard a muffled sob.
For a moment he stared at the piece of metal and glass in his hands. Then with an oath he sent it shattering at the wall opposite before sinking to the bed and burying his face in his hands

Tujhe yaad kar liya hai
Aayat ki tarah
Kaayam tu ho gayi hai
Kaayam tu ho gayi hai
Rivayat ki tarah
Images of her flashed across his mind. The tinkle of her payal, the fragrance of her skin, the sheer joy in her laugh and the adoration in her eyes every time they lifted to look at him. Her face...the face that had haunted him even when he had done his level best to hate it, the face that had hurt him so much when he had tried to forget it and the face that had mouthed the word yes' and opened up the heavens for him.
"Gauri, he whispered, hoping against hope that somehow, somehow she could hear him, that the wind would carry that one word, full of prayer and love to his beloved's ears, that the moon could show pity and show his heart to her, tell her how much Omkara Singh Oberoi loved her. Tell her that she was his sun and moon, his lodestar and the one memory that kept him sane.
Tujhe yaad kar liya hai
Tujhe yaad kar liya hai
Aayat ki tarah
Kaayam tu ho gayi hai
Kaayam tu ho gayi hai
Rivayat ki tarah
Tujhe yaad kar liya hai
Marne talak rahegi
Marne talak rahegi
Tu aadat ki tarah
Gauri stared out of the window, her heart pounding uneasily. She felt unusually close to him tonight. There was that sense of distress that plagued her every day but tonight it was pronounced, sharp enough to stall her breathing. He needed her tonight for some reason and it broke her heart that she wasn't there by his side, matching every step of his with one of hers, that she wasn't there as his ardhangini, the Uma to his Shiva.
Mere dil ki raahaton ka tu
Zariya ban gayi hai
Teri ishq ki mere dil mein
Kayi Eid mann gayi hai
Om closed his eyes. He preferred the darkness now because he could at least see her in this realm, her sweet little face so full of patience and love and steely strength. Blindly he lifted his hands to trace the contours of it, longing, needing to feel soft skin instead of empty air. Bitter disappointment consumed him at the inevitable result and for a moment he found himself blaming her for her blind devotion to these false gods. Rage replaced disappointment soon enough and he found himself once more burying his face in his hands to stem off the emotions threatening to tear him apart.
Tera zikr ho raha hai
Tera zikr ho raha hai
Ibaadat ki tarah
"Gauri, he breathed again, tired beyond words to conjure up any other image or word than hers. Would this trial ever end?
Tujhe yaad kar liya hai
O tujhe yaad kar liya hai
Aayat ki tarah
