This Is When Padmavati New Release Date Will Be Locked

Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone fans and those who are awed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali's sensibility of film making, have been waiting to see Padmavati release in theatres. The period drama based on the 1540 poem Padmavat by Malik Muhammad Jaysi was initially slated for a December 1 release. But thanks to controversies, threats by the Rajput Karni Sena against the film's cast and director and lack of action to bring the situation in control, the film had to be postponed. As of now, it lies postponed indefinitely. However, from the latest reports coming in, we might get to know the official release date soon.

As per a report in DNA, the makers are waiting for the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to watch the film and certify it. They are also waiting for the Gujarat elections to get over (December 9 18, 2017) before they lock the next release date of the magnum opus. The filmmaker had met a parliamentary committee in order to clear all the air around the film. Bhansali is asked to submit a written statement clearing all the doubts. Quite funnily, there have also been reports that the filmmaker is also planning to meet Chief Ministers from several states to get them on board the smooth release of Padmavati. Reacting to these reports about the re-conciliatory meets, Bhansali told the daily that since he is not not speaking, people are presuming that they can get away with anything. The filmmaker is understandably hurt and upset about the gigantic form the controversies around Padmavati have taken. Let's hope that the days to come are less stressful for him and his entire team and their labour of love does see the light of day.
