Part 4-
Kanak woke up the next morning, Uma was nowhere to be seen.
"Suman, where is Uma" Kanak asked as Suman crossed her path
Suman pointed outside to the heavy rainfall pouring down.
Kanak ran outside "Uma"
She watched as he stood by the tree, his hands dug into the soil.
Suman shouted after Kanak "His father planted the tree, the rain will knock it down"
If it was important to Uma, it would be important to her.
Running back inside she grabbed some string before running back out.
The branches were thin, would break easy.
Kanak began to tie the branches with the string, Uma looked toward her.
"What are you doing"
"Making sure the branches dont fall off, by tying them up to that"
Uma looked up at what Kanak pointed at.
Grabbing the string he began to help as Kanak pushed the soil in deeper to the ground as it became softer.
As the rain began to subside, Uma and Kanak walked back inside.
"Thank you" muttered Uma as he walked back into his room to clean up.
After Kanak had freshened up, she saw Uma lying down, asleep.
Touching his head she realised he had a temperature.
Grabbing a cold cloth she draped it on his head.
Kanak shook his shoulder "Uma, take this"
He took the tablet and the water.
For hours she sat by him, holding him while he was cold, cooling him down when he was warm.
Rubbing Vicks on his chest, giving him his medication, keeping him hydrated, giving him food.
3 days later Uma felt a lot better. For once in his life he was very distracted by the angel who had looked after him for 3 days and nights without complaint.
What made her look after him so selflessly?
