Part 2
Gauri was excited, in full anticipation of her engagement which was scheduled for next day. The glow on her face was visible to everyone and they couldn't help complimenting her for the same. It was as if she was flying in the air, her feet were not on the ground. She was finally getting engaged to her love, the ring exchange will be a promise of love for each other which was everlasting. Today was also her day off from studies, so she could organise everything for her engagement as she wanted. But time was just not passing, she was watching the clock like a hawk, but the day seemed to be getting longer with each passing second. She decided to go shopping with Anika and Bhavya and then they had plans to maybe watch a movie, to take minds off the engagement preparations and get some rest.
Omkara had gone out to buy something special for Gauri; he wanted to surprise her on the engagement. He ran into some old friends, who insisted on having tea in their old studio, which Omkara had stopped visiting a long time ago. He had shut that chapter of his life, after his family reprimanded him to. But his friends insisted and literally carried him along.
That afternoon, Shivaay entered the house walking swiftly, his throat dry , dishevelled and worried, closely followed by Khanna carrying Omkara in his arms and Rudy who looked equally worried but also angry. They moved swiftly to Omkara's room where Khanna deposited him on the bed Careful', said Shivaay. After checking Omkara was ok, with Jhanvi Ma and Daadi by his side, he picked up the phone and called Gauri,' Bachcha, tum jahan bhi ho, ghar aa jao, jaldi'
Gauri was buying popcorn whilst Anika and Bhavya purchased the movie ticket. Kya hua Bhaiya, hum cinema aaye hain, ticket bhi le liye, kuch chahiye tha aapko?
Bacha, bas ghar aa jao, tum sab' Shivaay couldn't keep the grief out of his voice. The moment she heard his voice, she knew, something was amiss. Omkara! Somehow, her heart had started beating erratically, she suspected something bad. All along the drive back home, Anika held her hands; she had spoken to Shivaay when Gauri was not looking. As soon as the car stopped outside OM, Gauri ran into the room, and saw Omkara. He was lying on the bed, all bruised, blood was oozing out from the corner of his left lip, his right hand and his forehead.
Omkara, kya hu aapko, Bade bhaiya, Rudy Bhaiya, yeh sab kya hain? Gauri was out of control. She was crying her eyes out and caressing Omkara's hair. He was unconscious. She got up, confronted Shivaay, took both his arms and shook him, Bade bhaiya, aap kuch bolte kyun nahin, kya hua inhe?' She then turned to Rudy,' Rudy Bhaiya, you tell me, what has happened to Omkara, he is ok, right, tell me he is ok?' Rudy was looking down, not wanting to show her his tears. Gauri went back to where Omkara was lying, put her head on his chest and cried like a baby. Daadi came, sat next to her and tried to calm her down. Gauri, doctor has seen Omkara and given him injection and medicines. He said he should be waking up soon,' Shivaay intervened. But when she couldn't be consoled at all, Shivaay took her by the arm and walked out of the room.
Bade bhaiya, kahan le jaa rahe hain aap, mujhe Omkara ke paas rehna hain' Gauri dragged her feet in opposite direction. Shivaay dragged her to the temple, in front of her Shankarji, then took her hands in his and said, tumhe bahut himmat ki zarurat hain Gauri, woh sunne ke liye jo main bolne ja raha hoon'. Gauri was looking at him, waiting.
This is about Omkara's past, you perhaps don't know this. Omkara was cornered today by some old enemies who saw him in the art studio he stopped going to long time ago and this is what happened. A girl had come in front of our car, she was injured, we took her to the hospital ad paid for all her expenses. Later we learned she was discharged. I started getting nightmares of the accident. I was sincerely depressed, drowning in my own black hole, which I had created for myself. Shivaay and Rudra tried to help me, but I even shut them out. On one of my trips to the police station, one goon met me on the way and sold me cocaine. I tried it and felt my pain had disappeared for the time I was under its spell. It became a regular occurrence, I started buying more and more cocaine from the guy and taking it more often than I should have. At one point, I went in a coma because of over-dose, that's when Shivaay found out. He put me in re-hab, where I was cured but not for long.'
By now, Omkara was sobbing on Gauri's shoulder, and Gauri was crying herself, she made him lie down with his head in her lap, caressing his hair. Don't stop Om, I want to hear everything.'

Every time I was depressed or in pain, I went in a downward spiral from where the only way out was to go back to taking drugs, there was no other relief for me. Today, those goons saw me at the studio and asked me to buy cocaine from them, they know I am rich, and when I refused they started hitting me, I hit back, but they were many. I am sorry Ri, I am so sorry, I should have told you this before, but I was scared of losing you.' But promise me, you will never leave me, I cannot live without you Ri, look at me Ri, you are my life, please' Omkara was crying like a baby.
Then promise me this, the day you feel like you need any drug, that you are even tiny bit sad, that you could succumb to something, you will tell me. And then together we will sort it out. Gauri pleaded
I promise Ri. I promise, I know I will never be lost when you are leading the way.'
Promise me this that the day you take anything, I will take it with you; we are together now, in everything'
I promise Ri, I will never take anything, never. You are the light at the end of this tunnel, there will never be any darkness again'
And, no more secrets between us?' She reprimanded him
I promise Ri, no more secrets, never'
And I promise you me, till the end, I will never leave your side, I will take care of you; I will never let you be sad, ever again. I love you' she vowed.
Her heart was breaking. For him. How could someone take so much pain, since childhood, he has suffered so much, silently? She kissed him on his forehead, whilst caressing his hair; his head was in her lap. She made him sit up, then kissed him on his forehead again where he was hurt, then kissed away his tears from his eyes, she kept kissing him, on the nose, on the lips, on the cheeks, on the neck, where he was hurt, on his hand, she opened his shirt and kissed his chest, on his heart, she kept moving down, kissing his pain away. He held her hair, moved her head back and took her lips in his.
The two souls spent the night soothing each other; they didn't know food, water, air, nothing. And no one came to disturb them. She was crying, he was crying, the sky was crying with them, that night it rained, washing away years of pain. For him.
