Was it mentioned why Sakthi was in jail? I assumed it was a murder. If so, whom did she murder?

yes it was mentioned I am article I think that she was in jail for murder but till now it's not mentioned in the show whose murder it was

I'd guess it was Datta Thakur's wife. He was the one who sent her to jail.

I figure that she killed DT's wife because she was tricked or something, or maybe the blame just fell on her and she believed it because she was indirectly responsible?

The Takur's wife died 20 yet as ago but Sakthi has been in jail for only the past 14 years. Maybe she found out the truth about him and started blackmailing him and he must have trumped up some charged to get her sent to jail

but she blackmailed the thakur that he had plotted to kill his wife and threatened him and that way she did the sindoor pooja hawan and evening aarti that day. also thakur wife was killed 20 years back and she was in jail for 14 years. it doesn't add up
