Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati has been embroiled in a string of controversies ever since its announcement. Now, Jacqueline Fernandez has come out in support of the movie.
While talking to a leading news agency, Jacqueline said that those who have issues with the film should rather not watch it, but violence is not the way to solve it.
"I just think that film is a form of art and everyone has the freedom of speech. Everyone has the freedom to make what they want to make, if people do not like or have issue with, then they don't need to watch it. I just feel that violence is a complete no. It's a very wrong thing to do. There are better ways to solve issues,'' she said.
Today, Salman Khan also came out in support of Bhansali. In an interview to a leading news channel, Salman Khan said, "Mera manna yeh hai ki aapke paascensor board hai. Censor board decide karega. Sanjay bahot hi khoobsurat aur badhiya films banate hai. heroine bahot acchi aur sundar dikhti hai. unki filmo mein kabhi koi vulgarity ya koi disgust nahihota. unka jo peechla track record dekh ke. That one sense should be there ke yeh kabhi bhi kisi ko uss tareek se darshayenge nahi (I believe there is Censor board so let the board decide it. Sanjay makes very good and beautiful films. Actresses look very beautiful in his films. His films have no vulgarity or any disgust. If you check his old track record, there should be a sense that he will never show anyone in a bad light)."
The magnum opus, starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor, has been facing protests from Shree Rajput Karni Sena, for allegedly tampering historical facts.
Padmavati is slated for release on 1st December 2017.
