On 27th June,2016 I was channel hopping when my eyes fell on Ishqbaaaz with an extra 'a'. I recollected that there were promos and clips on Star Plus promoting the show for at least a month.
As by then I had become a 'Gul Khan sceptic',I had thought that I will give this show a miss because emotional attachment to a Char Singham show causes severe heartache,heartburn after 250 or so episodes (by that time you are book,line,sinker
addicted😆).
But as fate had conspired,my eyes fell and held on a unique scene--a nattily dressed man,scion of the richest business empire of India,having an ego taller than Burj Khalifa and who is proud of his name,blood and lineage brought crashing down to earth by a mere chit of a girl who had only a name,no surname.Annika broke Shivaay Singh Oberoi' s windshield and ego and a love story was born and with the birth of 'Shivika',the inhibition and shackles around my heart regarding another Gul Khan show was broken. I fell in love and was hooked------again!!!
Shivika's journey made me laugh,cry,yell,shout,blush,smile like a fool and the addiction is still strong.
When Shivaay degraded Annika calling her a 'sadak ka kooda' my soul cried with Annika;
when Annika checkmated Shivaay copying his signature hair flick I whistled!
When Annika sang 'Billu ki shaadi hogi' I rolled on the floor laughing.
When Shivaay misunderstood Annika due to Daksh and forcefully married her,my soul was bruised along with Annika's.
When Shivaay introduced Tia as Mrs SSO,I felt Annika's anguish!
The journey of 'sadak ka kooda' to 'Annika meri biwi hain and 'Annika meri sansein rukh rahi hain' was remarkable on Indian television.No other show/couple has had me enchanted,mesmerised as Shivaay and Annika.
Annika confessed her love in her unique style and it was as if I had confessed my love for SSO!
When Shivaay said 'I love you Annika' I blushed along with Annika!
Shivika has me enamoured to such an extent that now I have an alternate life! -one asli duniya where I am a doctor,a mother,a wife and so on and an alternate universe where I live and breathe Shivika- my 'Saira Bano' for relaxation.😆
Currently,my alternate universe is going through an upheaval--tracks are unreasonable,unpalatable and giving me heebegeebees or in Annika's lingo michmichis.I love the mellowed down SSO but please CVs maintain the taadibaazi essence!
Hoping my alternate universe settles down to its usual awesome level...
