Somehow he managed to sit on the back seat and they started off. On the way he kept on muttering to himself...

Pandit: kya yaar kahan fans gaya...aaj tak kabhi peeche nahi baitha...sab dekh rahe honge to kya sochenge...saari izzat mitti mein mil gayi aaj to...aur wahan Sameer Naina ke saath bike pe...aaj to uski setting pakka...he started singing...hum tum ek bike pe saath ho...aur break lag jaye...aye haye...

Preeti: yeh kya khud se baat kiye ja rahe ho...kiske saath bike pe jaane ke sapne dekh rahe ho?

Pandit: kisi ke saath nahi...saare sapne ka satyanash kar diya...tum cycle chalao na...

Preeti got angry to know this and stopped the cycle... Tum neeche utro...utro...main jaa rahi hu aur tum khud aa jaao paidal...samjhe...

Pandit: tum itna gusse mein kyun rehti ho...aag ka gola khaake paida huyi thi kya?

Preeti: kya kaha tumne...aag ka gola...tum yahi raho...and she went away angrily and Pandit followed her behind... Both of them reached the picnic destination. When they reached the lake side, Sameer and Naina were already waiting for them. Naina went to Preeti and asked her if everything is alright. She told her what had happened and Sameer laughed to know that he had finally come there walking. They went inside and first of all they decided to try their favorite samosas and soft drinks. Naina and Preeti took Gold spot while the boys chose Thumbs up. Sameer offered them to try a new Chinese dish Chowmein which has recently come in vogue in the big cities. As the picnic spot was a famous tourist destination, there was an outlet serving chowmein. Although Naina wasn't much interested in trying it, but Preeti as usual was excited. Sameer ordered chowmein and in the meantime they continued to relish their samosas. When Sameer got the chowmein, to the table...all the three kept on staring at the look of it.

Preeti: to yeh hai chowmein...maine kisi se suna to tha...par kabhi dekha nahi...lekin ise khaate kaise hain?

Pandit: kamaal hai tumhe nahi pata...mujhe to laga tha ki tumhe to har baat ki khabar pehle se hi hoti hai...tum isme peechhe reh gayi... fail ho gayi tum...

Preeti: to usme kya hai...jo cheez aaj tak dekhi hi nahi...wo mujhe kaise pata hogi...main koi antaryaami thodi hu? Aur waise bhi tumse to zyada hi pata hai mujhe...

Pandit: na na tum to Jhansi ki rani ho...

Sameer: arey arey bas bhi karo tum dono...kya tum aise hi ladte rahoge...

Preeti: to main kahan ladti hu...wo to yeh hi...

Naina: arey Preeti bas na...picnic pea aye hain...enjoy karte hain na...

Naina and Sameer kept on enjoying their tiffs and in the meantime Sameer taught them how to eat chowmein with a fork. All of them gave it a try and to some extent, enjoyed its taste...very different from the usual Gujarati dishes.

Preeti: waise ek baat samajh nahi aayi...Naina tune in jaise ladkon se dosti kaise kar li?

Pandit: in jaise se kya matlab hai tumhara?

Preeti: matlab Naina ek number ki padaku ladki hai aur tum sab ka padai se door door tak koi rishta nahi hai...to aise logon ke beech dosti to ajeeb baat hai hi...

Naina: Preeti dosti marks dekhkar nahi...nature dekhkar ki jaati hai...aur yeh sab dil se bahut achhe hain...

Sameer and Pandit shared glances and smiled to each other as this meant that he had moved one step ahead in winning the bet. Naina felt as if Sameer was signalling to her about his feelings for her.

 After having the snacks they decided to enjoy the games at the stalls there. There were many games which they all participated and Naina was impressed with Sameer's skills in games. He won so many prizes through shooting games while Pandit could not hit even a single balloon. Preeti kept on teasing him for losing every time. Pandit tried to escape the teasing by making excuses...

Pandit: arey wo to main jaan boojh ke haar raha tha jisse mera dost saare prizes jeet sake... aakhir hum dono ki Jodi Jai Veeru jaisi hai...

Preeti: kya baat hai ...kya dosti hai...aapka naam to Jai Veeru ke saath hi itihaas me amar ho jayega...Sameer aur Pandit ki dosti...wah bhai wah and started laughing. Pandit felt embarrassed to see her laughing like this but as usual...how could he accept that he lost the games because of the lack of skills. He challenged Preeti to join him to the merry go round...but she excused herself that she doesn't have time for such useless rides. Pandit got a chance to tease her that she was scared of going on that ride.

Preeti: main kisi se nahi darti... Bas mera ispe jaane ka mann nahi hai...Naina tujhe jaana hai to tu ja...main na wahan apne liye earrings dekhti hu...kitne achhe achhe earrings mil rahe hain... and she went and started looking for them.

Pandit: bahut achha bahan hai apna darr chhupane ka...agar himmat hai to chalo...main bhi to dekhu tumhari himmat...

Preeti: achha to yeh baat hai...chalo fir...main kyun darne lagi bhala...

All of them went for the ride...Naina knew she was scared of heights but just because of the challenge, she had agreed. Naina decided to sit with her on the ride so that she feels safe.

Naina: Preeti tujhe yeh challenge nahi lena chahiye tha...tujhe pata hai na...tujhe chakkar aate hain...

Preeti: haan wo to hai Naina...par wo waise hi mujhe itna pareshan kar raha hai...har baat mein behes...main na nahi bol payi jab usne challenge diya to...wo mera mazaak banata na...

Naina: par ab tu kya karegi?

Preeti: wohi to soch rahi hu...par ab to jaana hi padega...chal...

Sameer: kya zaroorat thi tujhe use challenge dene ki?

Pandit: arey bhai tune dekha nahi wo tab se mujhe pareshan kar rahi hai...yeh mauka main kaise jaane deta...ab aayega oont pahaad ke neeche...uski jhoole pe hawa tight...aur main end karunga yeh fight...wah wah wah wah...

Sameer: tu bhi na...ab chal...

Both the girls and the boys sat on different seats...and the ride started...Naina asked Preeti to close her eyes and hold her hand so that she feels less scared. She did so but as the ride speed picked up she started screaming with fear...but Naina kept on pacifying her...Pandit was enjoying to see her scream and kept on laughing. The ride stopped after few minutes and Sameer and Pandit were the first ones to get down...slowly one by one all the people were getting down but when Naina and Preeti were at the top, some technical fault occurred and it got jammed...both of them were stuck at the top.

Naina: yeh kya ho raha hai Preeti...jhoola to ruk gaya...ab hum kya karenge?

Preeti: Naina aaj ka din hi kharaab hai...mujhe tere saath aana hi nahi chahiye tha...jab se aayi hu kuch na kuch bura ho raha hai...pehle usne mera dimaag kharab kar diya aur ab yahaan...mujhe to waise hi chakkar aa raha hai...

Naina (screamed at the top of her voice): Sameer...kuch karo please...dekho yeh jhoola atak gaya hai...

Sameer noticed that they were stuck there and asked the person taking care of the ride as to what was the problem? He told her that there is a technical fault and they are trying...that might take some time...both of them got worried for the two girls and scolded the technical people there. But obviously there was no other way out...they had to wait...they kept on trying to fix the problem and there, both the girls kept on facing repeated jerks and Preeti was all the more scared...Naina was a big support for her in this situation...but she couldn't help her much as she too was in the same situation and somewhere inside she too was feeling scared. After almost half an hour, they could move the ride manually and one by one they helped the people out. Naina and Preeti were the last ones to get down...Preeti was feeling dizzy on getting down and Pandit immediately held onto her and prevented her from falling...they made her sit down and offered her some water.

Sameer: tumhe itna darr lagta hai to tum kyun gayi us jhoole pe?

Preeti: wo isne challenge jo diya tha...

Pandit: I'm sorry...maine to mazaak kiya tha...par wo itna serious ho jayega ...yeh pata nahi tha...yeh mazaak to jaanleva ho gaya yaar...

Sameer: chalo kabhi to ise samajh aaya ki mazaak bhi jaan leva ho sakta hai...warna yeh aur Munna...inhe to bas humesha mazaak hi soojhta hai...

Preeti: ab chhodo...koi baat nahi...jo hua so hua...waise Mogambo ke muh se Maine pyar kiya ke Prem ke dialogues achhe nahi lagte...

All of them started laughing and Naina was relieved to see Preeti out of that shock. After some time they all moved forward and enjoyed the natural beauty there and saw many more people enjoying there . By afternoon, they had their lunch and Preeti wanted to go for the boat ride as well. They all went for the boat ride...this time...Naina sat with Sameer while Preeti was with Pandit so that the girls don't end up in some problem again. While boating, they were not talking much...Preeti decided to break the silence...

Preeti: waise ek baat batao...Munna Swati ko like karta hai na...

Pandit: nahi to...aisa kuch nahi hai...

Preeti: tumne kya mujhe bewakoof samjha hai...main Naina nahi hu...jise yeh sab baatein samajh nahi aati...maine na...filmon me dekha hai...aisa koi tabhi karta hai jab wo use pasand karta hai...jaise usne swati ke na aane ki baat suni...usne aane se mana kar diya...isse to saaf pata chalta hai ki wo use like karta hai...

Pandit: keh to tum sahi rahi ho...par kisi se kehna nahi...

Preeti: chinta mat karo main kisi se kuch nahi kahungi... Dil ki baat dil mein hi rahegi...vaada hai mera...

Pandit: tum filmein bahut dekhti ho na...

Preeti: haan...Madhuri dixit meri favorite hai...tumne uski film Dil dekhi...kya kaam kiya hai usne...kaash...kabhi main bhi aisa role kar paaun? Tum aage chalke kya banna chahte ho? Kuch karoge ya fir aise hi timepass karte rahoge?

Pandit: karunga...zaroor karunga...par kya...wo nahi pata...

Preeti looked at him and had a smile on his face seeing his frank nature...he was a carefree person but had a good heart as he felt sorry for putting her in a scary situation on the ride. The boat ride ended and it was time to leave now for home and they all reached the place from where they had to go towards ther respective homes. They were about to say goodbye to each other when Pandit gave Preeti a pair of earrings...

Preeti: yeh kisliye?

Pandit: bas tum le lo...main tumhe sorry bolna chahta hu... yeh maine tumhare liye hi liya tha...tumhe pasand aayi thi na...

Preeti smiled to see his gesture and they moved towards their respective homes... Sameer saw Pandit a bit quiet today...

Sameer: kya baat hai...aaj tu chup kyun hai? Preeti ke baare mein soch raha hai kya? Bada gift de raha tha use...

Pandit: yaar aisa kuch nahi hai...wo to maine tere shart jeetne ka raasta aur aasan banane ke liye kiya tha..

Sameer: kya...

Pandit: aur kya...ab dekh Preeti Naina ke saamne humari tareef karegi to wo tere aur kareeb aayegi...tune hi to kaha tha ki uske dil ka raasta uske parivaar se hokar jaata hai...

Sameer: ab tu na bahane mat bana...tera   chehra bata raha hai ki teri band baji hui hai...

Pandit: yaar sach bataau to tu theek keh raha hai...meri to hawa tight ho gayi thi unhe wahan atka hua dekhkar...uska baap wo librarian ko pata chal jaata to kya hota...socha hai tune...ab kam se kam wo humari shikayat to nahi karengi...

Sameer: haan yeh to sach hai...mazak mazak mein unhe kuch ho jaata to...bach gaye yaar aaj to...

They both thanked their stars and went to their homes... At night when both Naina and Preeti were resting...she asked her about Pandit and Sameer as they were in her class. Naina was surprised to see Preeti asking about someone as she never looked upto anyone and was always lost in the thoughts of Salman Khan. She told her about them and after that they went off to sleep. Today's day was so eventful for all of them and somewhere Preeti had developed a soft corner for Pandit not knowing what was instore for them in future.. never had they thought that their day to day tiffs would turn into love for each other and many years later...they would still remember their first meeting...wo kehte hain na...

Kaun kab dil me jagah bana le pata nahi chalta

uske liye kabhi kabhi ek lamha hi bahut hota hai
