This OS is timed to a presumptive situation where Naina and Sameer have become friends and Munna, Pandit and Swati are all a part of this friends group. But as the story belongs to the 90s...friendship between a girl and boy was not that common and not at all acceptable to the families.
So here is a situation where the entre friends group wishes to go out for a picnic at the lake side on a Sunday. As Naina knows that going out with boys won't be acceptable to her family, she takes the help of Swati and she lies in front of her elders that they are planning to go out for a picnic with all the girls of the class. Initially reluctant but later when Chachaji insisted, they had to agree and Naina ultimately got the permission to go with them. She was very excited to go tomorrow for the picnic and whole night she kept on imagining Sameer with her on the picnic.
It was Sunday morning and today also the entire family gathered to watch Mahabharat on Doordarshan. Although she was sitting in front of the TV with folded hands, her mind was roaming around the lake with Sameer.
Tauji: kya baat kahi hai Krishan Bhagwan ne...ke Arjun karm karna apne haath mein hai...karm ka fal apne haath mein nahi...kitni sachai hai is baat mein...lekin aaj ke bachhe is baat ko kahan samajhte hain?
Chachaji: nahi Bhai sahab aisi baat nahi hai...parivaar ke sanskaar pe nirbhar karta hai ki bachhe kya sochte aur kya karte hain?
Tauji: to tumne kya sanskaar diye apni betiyon ko?
Chachaji kept quiet as this was a usual routine...somehow Tauji always targeted their upbringing of their daughters...just then Chachi spoke up...
Chachi: par Bhai sahab...Naina ki parvarish bhi to humne hi ki hai...dekhiye kaise dhyan se Mahabharat dekh rahi hai...kyun Naina?
Naina was lost in her fantasies so she didn't respond...Preeti saw this and gave her a light shoulder push and brought her back into reality...
Preeti (softly): kahan khoyi hai Naina? Teri wajah se Tauji har waqt hume sunate rehte hain...tune kya koi tareefon ka world record banane ki sochi hai...
Tauji: dhyan kahan hai tumhara?
Naina: wo...wo kuch nahi Tauji...wo dhyan se dekh rahi thi na...to isliye sun nahi payi...
Tauji: achha achha theek hai...chalo ab serial khatam ho gaya...kuch naashta kara do...
Chachi: Naina Preeti chalo meri madad karo ...
Both the girls go along with Chachi and Pooja to the kitchen and serve breakfast to the entire family. The phone bell rings and Chachaji pick up the phone. He calls Naina and tells her that its Swati's call and she wants to talk to her. Naina takes the receiver from him and talks to Swati. She tells Naina that she won't be able to come for the picnic as her mother is taking her to Satyanarayan Pooja at her relatives house. Naina became upset to know this and thought that now even she won't be able to go for a picnic. If Swati is not coming to take her...then no one would allow her to go...she kept on thinking of a way out when she saw Preeti serving breakfast. Suddenly an idea cropped up in her mind and she pulled Preeti inside their room.
Preeti: arey Naina kya kar rahi hai...aisa kya ho gaya jo tu mujhe aise kheench rahi hai?
Naina: mujhe na teri help chahiye...
Preeti: tujhe...aur meri help...teri tabiyat to theek hai...( she touched her forehead with her palm to check if Naina has fever)...aaj suraj dakshin se nikla hai kya?
Naina : arey aisa kuch bhi nahi hai...wo kya hai mujhe na picnic pe jaana hai...
Preeti: haan to tu jaa to rahi hai Swati aur baaki ladkiyon ke saath...fir...
Naina: Swati nahi jaa payegi use Satyanarayan ki Pooja mein jaana hai...to main akeli...
Preeti: akeli kahan...baaki ladkiyan bhi to hain teri class ki...
Naina: wo...wo kya hai maine na chhota sa jhooth bola hai...wo Swati ne hi zabardasti jhuth bulwaya aur ab wo khud nahi aa rahi...
Preeti: haw Naina...tu aur jhooth...baat kya hai...bata na jaldi...
Naina told her that she was going with boys group and that she had no other way out...Preeti was shocked to know this and asked her that if their family came to know this...what would happen? Naina asked her to promise that she wont reveal the truth to anyone and that she should come with her to the picnic. Preeti initially resisted but later had to agree as Naina promised to make notes for her for the entire week. But Preeti was wondering why was she so desperate to go to the picnic and Naina answered that she had promised Sameer that she would come and she can't break her promise...otherwise use paap chadega...Preeti laughed at hearing this and agreed to come with her. But it was Naina who had to take permission for Preeti to go.
Both of them went out and Naina asked Chachaji to allow Preeti also to go for picnic. She said that it was long since Preeti went out for a picnic and it was also going to be helpful in studies as they would get to collect many flower petals and leaves for their Biology project. It would be very useful for both of them. Chachi enquired that even Naina can collect it for both of them to which Chachaji said that they were going for picnic and if Naina would collect for both of them...when would she enjoy her picnic. He allowed both of them to go. Naina and Preeti rushed inside and got ready to leave.
Soon they left the house and reached the place where it was decided to meet. All the three boys were already waiting there and when both of them reached, Munna was surprised to see Swati not with them.
Munna: Naina wo swati nazar nahi aa rahi...late aane wali hai kya? Aur Preeti tumhare saath?
Naina: wo Swati ko na Satyanarayan ki Pooja mein jaana pad gaya...to wo nahi aa sakegi...aur main akeli nahi aa sakti thi to isliye Preeti ko lekar aayi...
Munna: dhat tere ki...he started singing in frustration...kya se kya ho gaya...
Pandit: tera Jeevan kora kagaz kora hi reh gaya...
Preeti: oh K.L Sehgal ki auladon...ab yeh besure gaane hi gaate rahoge ya chaloge bhi...waise bhi hume time pe wapas ghar jaana hai...
Munna: yaar apna to saara din hi kharab ho gaya...ab main to nahi jaane wala picnic pe...
Pandit: haan yaar yeh to aisi hi baat ho gayi jaise tune paani mein chhalaang laga di kisi ko bachane ke liye aur koodne ke baad tujhe yaad aaya ki tujhe tairna to aata hi nahi... ab tu kya karega picnic pe...
Sameer: kya yaar...aisa kyun kar raha hai...saara program chaupat ho jayega...
Munna: tum sab jaao yaar...main nahi ja sakta...meri wajah se apna program mat kharab karo...
Pandit: haan yaar hum chalte hain...ise apne gham ke saath shok sabha mein rehne dete hain...
Preeti: picnic pe jaana hai ya hum wapas jayen?
Naina: arey tu aise mat bol na...hum jayenge na...
Pandit: waise Naina tumhari yeh behen humesha aise hi rehti hai...Jhansi ki rani bankar...
Preeti: lo...ab pooch liya to Jhansi ki rani...ab yeh kya baat huyi bhala?
Sameer: arey arey come on...yeh sab chhodo...chalo picnic pe chalte hain...agar Munna nahi aana chahta to na sahi...hum chaaron chalte hain..
Munna decided not to go and asked all of them to carry on...Sameer decided that 4 of them would go for picnic and he can't spoil the program today as Naina had managed to come after a lot of difficulty. They decided that Naina would sit behind Sameer on his bike and Preeti would go with Pandit on his cycle. Naina sat behind Sameer with hesitation as this was the first time she was sitting with a boy on a bike. She wasn't feeling comfortable but Sameer helped her hold onto the bike and sit properly. On the other hand Pandit had to sit with Preeti on a cycle...
Pandit: yaar Sameer hum dono ek cycle pe kaise aayenge...maine pehle kabhi kisi ladki ke saath cycle nahi chalayi...
Preeti: waah...yeh achha hai...to kya main akeli paidal jaaun? Tum hato...agar tumhe ladki ko baitha kar cycle chalani nahi aati to tum peechhe baitho...main cycle chalati hu...
Pandit: tum chala logi cycle agar main peeche baithu to...
Preeti: to isme kya hai...chalo ab baitho peeche...he sat on the back seat and Preeti started paddling...but Pandit couldn't sit properly on the back seat and he fell down...all of them started laughing...but Preeti became irritated...
Preeti: arey tumhe to peeche baithna bhi nahi aata...tum kya karoge zindagi mein...
Pandit (standing up): main zindagi mein dekhna zaroor kuch karunga...aage chalke mere paas bhi bike hogi...gaadi hogi...
Preeti: haan aur koi tumhe aake jagayega aur tumhe pata chalega ki yeh to tumhara sapna tha...haina...ab chalen shekhchilli...sapne baad mein dekhna...
And they left from their for their picnic destination...
