"Life is like a game of chess.

I'm honestly not surprised by the dramatic inefficiency most court cases are handled in Indian Tv. That is obviously not how it plays out but I have gotten desensitized to the recurring illegitimacy which is almost comical.
Moving ahead. A good chunk of the episode today told us about Aanchal. Funnily enough, her mom talks of her as the smartest lawyer, a topper in the class, in the same episode where she puts forward a display of utter lack and logic as a lawyer. This takes me back to my old statement. She's passionate. She's a socialist and activist. She also has a preset view of the families like that of the Raichands and this obviously became personal for her the moment Kabir kidnapped her. I think it became much more about her in that instance than it was about the case. It's not abnormal. After what they did to her, any person would be fueled with a fire to take them down by hook or crook. How can people so despicable actually be right?
I get that. At the same time this again shows two inherent traits: impulsiveness and passion.
Aanchal is fueled by aggression more than reason. She would always look at things from an impassioned lens and feel strongly and when that happens you cannot bring cold calculation to the table.
Perhaps that is the fire that intrigues Ranveer. That rage that contrasts his coldness and calm in the face of about any calamity.
But of course, it is never that simple with Ranveer Raichand. He studies people. He quantifies them based on their qualities and then uses them as pawns. Once he knows how someone ticks he knows their whole makeup. And that is what's perhaps so fascinating for him about people. A billion different kind yet all still somehow fall into certain patterns.
Another interesting point today was how he was not shocked or overly relieved even for a second. He knew he had won even before the dawn had stripped the darkness. He knew everything.
An innate trust in Kabir?
Or a trust based on previously proven encounters?
Or perhaps a trust on the very gridline he set himself?
Whatever it is, he shows no emotion but he also doesn't do it unconsciously. He can smile openly when he wants and then change his expressions in a split second and issue a challenge.
So he finally steps forward and this time there's a change in his tone.
I think it was always there, the subtle warnings.
One recurrent theme in both episodes in their interaction was the intentional goading that Ranveer has been doing. It's as if he knows that she's impulsive, impassioned, and he eggs her on too now. Just like he does Kabir. Telling her to look in a different angle. the way he said, 'very frustrating,' a very subtle taunt. A very subtle challenge.
And again today's episode. He goads her again. He challenges her again. But Ranveer Raichand doesn't ever outright declares anything. He talks in riddles. Indirect ways. And that's his game. He tells you too and he doesn't tell you either.
You take what you take from his words.
This isn't over now because this case doesn't end it. She will not leave his premises now because now he won't allow it.
Why? What exactly does he want now? Five episodes and we still don't know anything about him.
I guess the answer is one for us to ponder.
Kabir's dynamic with his mom is also interesting. There isn't much shown for us to exactly gauge how it goes. He definitely loves his family and is loyal to them. But Sarika's preference for Ranveer is rather blatant. And today again Kabir comes and saves the day.
For me the theme of isolation and a need to prove himself is more apparent in Kabir. His parents do not respect him the same way they respect and look up to Ranveer. He's considered the spoilt brat, the boy who messes up things. And yet he's the one who does the most for his family.
Could it be an all-encompassing genuine surge of emotion?
Or is resentment somewhere brewing inside?
That much's there for us to find out.
The harmonica: This has been discussed a lot and all the reasons why Ranveer loves playing it. So I'll just add another dimension to it. There's an emotional potency in music. So much more with a harmonica which is more personal at any given level. Music has a way of forging a connection, a subtle, barely there sometimes, but a connection between two people. It can say things.
Ranveer has an almost devotional way of playing the harmonica. A very calm and soothing aura that further amplifies when he's playing an instrument that is just as mysterious, as unorthodox and sensuous as the quiet he so perfectly wears around himself.
But that sense of confidence and peace only comes when you know you've already won.
And he always knows.
Everything.
Ranveer knows that money and power alone aren't enough. At the end of the day, a smarter brain can outwit anyone. And a man as prepared and meticulous would never take the chance of letting one rogue cook spoil his broth.
