Khan's acquittal in the 2002 hit-and-run
case is likely to be heard on Tuesday,
October 24. Salman Khan was acquitted of
all charges in December 2015 by the
Bombay High Court due to lack of substantial
evidence in the case. The apex court had
admitted the Maharashtra Government's
appeal challenging the Bombay High Court
verdict on July 5, 2016.
The Tiger Zinda Hai actor was held guilty in
the hit-and-run case by a sessions court on
May 6, 2015. Salman Khan moved the
Bombay High Court after the sessions
court's hearing and was proven not guilty in
the case by the HC.
A complaint was filed against Salman Khan
for the hit-and-run case in 2002 when his
Toyota Land Cruiser ran over people
sleeping on the footpath outside the
American Express bakery in Bandra. The
incident happened on September 28,
2002. In the accident, one person lost his
life whereas four others were injured. The
Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor allegedly fled from
the accident spot, but was later arrested. It
was reported that the superstar was under
the influence of alcohol while he was driving
the car, but he maintained that he was not
driving.
Currently, Salman Khan is busy with his
upcoming film Tiger Zinda Hai, which is a
sequel to Ek Tha Tiger. He will be romancing
Katrina Kaif in TZH after a long sabbatical.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Tiger Zinda Hai is
slated to release on December 22, 2017.
Post TZH, he will start shooting for Race 3.
