first of all the mumbai police giving out warnings...please. why don't they do some internal cleansing before they decide to throw restrictions on what people can and can not wear during their shows. mumbai police is by far one of the most corrupt in india and full of a bunch of hypocrites.

and i am a poster on debate mansion....on and off. and yeah sure they have debates regarding this stuff on there but there's only a handful of ppl who say that women shouldn't wear what they want...all the others state that as adults they have full right to wear what they want.

and as has been said time and time again......we need to differentiate between real life and reel life. they are all playing characters!!!!!! they are dressing as they are told and even the dialogues are fed to them. that is NOT who they are in real life.

and if we start dictating what others can wear....where do we draw the line. look at some religions who don't want even their women to show their face to strangers! what is acceptable to one person may be offensive to someone else. who is gonna say what length of the skirt is acceptable....some might want them down to the ankles. 😕

all these actresses are adults...they have every right to dress as they please. sure sometimes they can wear things that we may not find appropriate...but its their life. if we dont like it...we dont have to dress like them.

Sita, since you think very differently from me, I would like to ask you one simple question. Did you or did you not think that Panchi's dress was short?

I remember reading in an earlier post of yours that you felt Sanju was wearing a very short dress for her birthday party and that your idol Panchi would never do that. Now Panchi's dress to the award function was much shorter than what Sanju was wearing that day. How come you found her dress stylish and not revealing? Is it because it was Panchi who was wearing the dress, you can be a little more lenient in your views? If not then would you write to her (if given an opportunity to do so) and tell her not to wear such dresses?

I am asking you this not to start a fight but just out of curiosity as to what you think is revealing. If you consider Panchi's dress not revealing I would beg to differ because I would. For me anything over the knee would be revealing. So what may be revealing to me may not be revealing to you and vice versa. It is another thing that I would not go to the extent of imposing my view on someone else. But whatever standards one judges people, those standards should be uniform.

Anyway, I personally feel there are much more important issues to raise your voice against. And someone's dress sense is not really a topic to be discussed in this forum which had in the past seen heated debates on this issue leading to unnecessary quarrels, with mods having to intervene to close down such topics.

(perhaps the pix just showed the top half). in any case, not related to any dress issue but didnt like how panchi looked....gawdy makeup!!:S
