I'm not from India, and don't care for history. Everything written in academic or non-academic texts on historical figures are never 100% accurate, Interpretation plays a significant factor. CGM is not the only historical figure in the world that has been taken in modern tv and interpreted differently/romanticized. I know that EK has completely romanticized CGM's character, and never looked to her show to depict history. All she did was borrow the names of the figures (although I wish she had just created fictitious names). Don't worry, there is a reason why academic work and documentaries exist. 😉

The actual CGM?..who knows? It is just a romanticization of a historical character CGM..like Romeo and Juliot..there Shakespeare..here Ekta..the actors are Rajat & Swetha..doing fantastic job..both give their energy and dedication to give life to the long gone characters..a romantic story on a historic foundation...academic angle..it is for historians...documentary..for writing a thesis to get doctorate..why bother?Let us enjoy the show..sometimes its silliness also
