Okay So I was meant to start a chat thread for today, but I was on the forum till late last night and then finally spent sometime writing the continuation to my FF, so much so that I was exhausted and decided to go to sleep
But nevertheless I did watch the beginning of Fridays exquisite episode few times and hence decided to make this post today
So Lets discuss the first few moments of this episode again as
This scene was extraordinary, exquisite and exemplary .
So its all starts with Dev sitting all by himself, his face looks forlon and his stance is that of a man who is finally defeated.
Advay has today defeated the Dev in him once and for all
Chandini has left him forever, Hence why he almost says it as an accusation,
Tum hamesha ke liye meri zindagi se chali Gayee !!
More like , How could you leave me forever ? how could you leave me , YOUR DEV and go?
Chandini on the other hand is STILL RUNNING mind you !!!
So sees him, and memories of their childhood flash before her and its beautiful, as for once we get to see them from Chandini's perspective. The boy that teased her, played with her and loved her the most in the world was here, sitting right before her eyes. HE WAS HER HUSBAND, he was there in front of her all the time and she had never realised it.
She runs up and to him and wraps her arms around his waist as he about to walk away.
Advay at first is stunned, he is lost for words, nevertheless he almost heaves a sigh of relief, She came back to him, She never left him after all , his attempt to rid himself of her were proving futile and for some reason he is not complaining. He is just taken aback by her sudden display of affection.
She is meant to be the girl he hates, yet he stands there letting her hold him tight. Like as though he wanted to be held and comforted.
This is not a dark hero , this is a just a little boy who is sulking and needs to be cajoled and comforted.
But nevertheless he wonders to himself , what had gotten into her all of a sudden, at which point she starts blabbering, tho really cutely. She tells him how could I have not recognised you all this while.
So now its dawns upon Advay, "Dammit , She knows
He had taken every care for her to not know the truth about him, but she knows, and he almost kicks himself for having been so careless.
Dev on the other hand doesn't give a toss. She is here, for him, holding him and crying with her head against him. This is more than what he had hoped for.
Hence why he cannot hold back his tears as she says
Mujhe kai baar laga ki hamara beech main kuch hai ( I felt like as tho there was something between us)
Thats when tears begin to trickle down, he cannot hold them back. She felt him , she knew there was some kind of a strange attraction between the. She had sensed him.
Just the realisation of that fact, moves him deeply.
Dev doesn't hold back and Advay doesn't let him hold back either. The tears trickle down, he stands there listening to her, still in her tight embrace.
So in the entire sequence he hasn't still stepped out of her embrace, the embrace of a girl who is supposedly HATES.
She keeps addressing him as TUM and he finally breaks his silence with
Badon ko Aap kehte hai, as he wipes his tears away.
He is still Dev , just that he doesn't want her see him crying. Not from a Man's stand point. But more like a instinctual way, of him not wanting her to realise that he too is deeply affected by her.
She says yes, Par apnon ko tum Kehte hai, and tries to get closer which is when he lifts his hand as tho to slap her.
Yes it is Dev , it is very much still Dev. He is angry and in that anger lifts his hand but why and here is my list
Firstly he is more like, HOW DARE YOU LEAVE ME ? Dont you ever do that to me again, DO you understand when then goes to
I was there all this while and you never recognised, so much for friendship and so much for love.
I kept telling you, that I was your destiny, but you were still hell bent on marrying someone other than me , SO were all those promises you made to me a LIE,
Dont you dare come close to me now, like as though everythign can go back to normal after all that you have done to me and finally
Badon ko aap kehte hai, how dare you disrespect Me !!
so the above are my POV's as to why he lifts his hand, but is unable to hurt her, because he LOVES her, and has only always Loved her.
Hence why he freezes the moment she says I tell everyone that Dev is a Rakshak, suddenly she is his Chandu , the girl he played with and fought with as a child.
Just Baruns Expressions in this scene are mind-blowing
He lets her take his face in her hands. HUH !!! the Girl he supposedly HATES !!
She touches him, while he looks at her in agony.
He wants to hold her back and cry his heart out in her arms.
He wants to maybe kiss her, cuddle her and tell her how much he missed her and how his heart broke into a million pieces every time he broke hers.
But for now he just stand there looking at her face, not knowing how to react and not wanting to react.
There are many burning question in his heart, that he needs answers for. Or rather he doesn't need any answers, as he believes he knows her truth, but nevertheless he wants to confront her anyways. Just to tell her THAT SHE BROKE HIS HEART TOO !!! in ways that she cannot even imagine.
He asks her why, why , why and she is stunned as she doesn't know what he is talking about.
He doesn't believe her and then reminds her of her Child , the one she abandoned
It is still Dev accusing her of having had a child, another Man's child and then abandoning her child, like as though all of it was Child's play.
He walks away and tells her that Advay has no place for her in his heart. But she wants to know what Dev has to say on the matter.
He replies DEV died a long while ago. But he knows thats a lie. Dev is very much alive, he was there a few moments ago, leaning into her embrace, with tears corroding his heart like acid.
Hence why he turns his back to her as he says, Dev is gone , now all that remains is Advay and Advay is heartless and ruthless and doesn't care for you.
I think this is the most EXTRAORDINARY face offs, revelations I have ever seen in my life. Hollywood or bollywood, Cinema or Television or just otherwise.
One of the most Un cliched, subtle yet impactful scene that just leaves you deeply affected.
No matter what I say or how much I speak of this scene, it still seems like a pale and watered down in comparison to the Magic that transpired on the Screens.
There have been many brilliant scenes in this season till now, but this has to
BE THE BEST !!! HANDS DOWN !!!
and
Advay Singh Raizda dare I say , is Barun's best till date.
