I think NK is faking the whole drama. He knows in his heart that Kunal will prefer to leave than marry Sawri. Thats why he told Sawri and her mom that he knows and understands humans. He knows that Kunal has been bought up by them and he will not stoop so low so get the money. Which is why he did not let sawri marry Karan.

My two cents. I hope it turns out this way.

Even i thought about it because when he was talking to Saawri and Pushpa i found that he was deeply hurt. Lets see what happens next

He is hurt, he was crying. His voice was shaky when he was hurting Kunal.😕

I think he was testing Kunal's loyalty to him. I don't think he would've let Kunal marry Sawri if Kunal agreed to his conditions. But he wanted to feel reassured by Kunal's loyalty after feeling betrayed by the two women in his life. But hearing Kunal pick Meghna, hurt him tremendously. We saw how shaky and hurt he was by the whole thing. But even then he couldn't truly kick Kunal out himself. He needed Karan to do it. This is going to break him.

NK thinks he understands people but he usually doesn't and that has always been his biggest problems. He looks for the wrong things to prove loyalty.
