He is my favourite singer and I really miss his songs. But the way things are going I don't know if I'll ever really get to hear him again. Do you guys think that he can make a comeback as one of the main lead playback singers or do you think his days are over now. He is only 40, still young enough to sing mainstream again. His contemporaries retired at 60 odd years. And his voice is still as amazing as it was before. His range hasn't diminished. His live shows still hold a lot of power. And he still has a significant amount of fan followers. But still he isn't singing mainstream the way he used to. So do you guys think that it's possible for him to do that again once the ban on him is lifted???

i dont want him to sing shitty bollywood new songs just to be in mainstream ...during the time of kumar sanu he started in melody music era and during his end when sonu replaced him that was also a melody era of same music directors anu malik , nadeem shravan , sajid wajid etc ...today music director got changed and they changed the face of music to from best to worse now its new music directors they will not work with sonu or kk i guess and pritam is business mind he is not loyal to any singer he see who is on public liking list and he give songs to current sensation just for the heck of popularity ...i bet in 90 and 2000 era ...today mainstream singers were not even allowed to stand outside recording rooms ...those were quality music last decade ...music changed , melody gone , westren and sharabi stye got popular ...sonu should refrain from doing shit bolly songs of current time he already had golden period of his golden songs

Agree.. but I was watching fanaa the other day and was just thinking that the songs had so much character and softness to them. Even the song dekho na.. had so much softness to it with zero vulgarity and was sung with so much nazaakat.. I miss that now. I miss those voices and that character of Bollywood now. I hope he does make a comeback now!

Yes the music has changed and the times have also changed.. but melody remains melody yaar, whether sung in this decade or the last. Why are songs of lataji and Kishore Kumar still popular? Why do we still listen to them? Why do we pause our music channels when old Hindi songs come and can listen to them for hours while we have to change the channel if we listen to more than two songs of the current generation? Why should a song like dekho na which wasn't even very popular during that year and didn't win any awards win against every song heard today?

Just see the way Sunidhi sings choo lo na.. or when Sonu sings dekho na.. Kitna pyaar hai wo words mein. You don't need to listen to the words at all. You know what they want to convey even without knowing the meaning. See how well Kajol and amir express then. There is absolute zero vulgarity there and yet it's sensuous.

A very big challenge it is. And an even bigger challenge is for him to actually take up that challenge. Don't know if I've managed to convey..

Dude, Sonu is still singing. He is popular in Kannada. He is adapting his career like others. Perhaps you need to learn to listen to other language songs ?
