So many heroes have been worshipped:-

Pratham mittal from kutumb:. He used honour. He disgraced gauri and then she give in to marry him. This is my fav serial.

Kya dil mein hai : arjun has forced heroine and raped his wife.

Kasam se : bani married ram kapoor in ghungat by peing piya.

Ipkknd : arnab blackmailed khushi into marriage.

Phulwa: Angad hasija married a 5 yr old gal.

Kumkum: sumit married kumkum for her honor , respect.

Ishqbaaz : shivaay married by blackmailing anika and making her believe her brother is in danger.

Tsmsp: uma married by force bcause he belives she is the one.

I dont say its right... But its a serial and i see every point going towards this thing. I dont say we should forgive him... But i think we worshipped these hero heroines beacuse they were modern, spoke english. And here uma is desi?

Pls discuss...

Pls dont judge... I am not supporter of forced marriages ... But just want to check my hypocrisy as well. Am i a hypocrite?

its very rare in a daily soap.if the hero/heroine married a normal way..😆..even a happy and very much in love couples turn enemies for life at the day of their marriage..😉😆

but the onky difference between all these scinerios and tsmsp's is that hero heroine had never even see each other..let alone have a grudge for each other..they were total.strangers..😕.well thats a rare scinerio..i wish it would have been soemthing like bride confusion and kanak in ghunghat by mistake sits in uma mandap..and after marriage uma refuses to annulate the marriage considering it as shivji's sign..

THIS !!!!

Every single show I have seen so far guy forces girl to marry or blackmails her and marries her . No one has a problem .

But Uma did it because 1. got so many signs from god and he's religious .
2. He actually did ask Maasisa to ask her and she did sorta say yes . she came all the way there and then was about to leave .
3. He never disrespected her after that like many other "heros" do in other serials .

All the bad things he does is because of his messed up interpretation of religion , not because he's a bad guy .

I mean he treated her quite well when in most other serials due to some "hate" track the man always secretly or openly treats the woman like shit .

I think that all shows show the same type of forced marriage situation , but people just freaked out over tsmsp .

I'm not saying what he did was right. He is absolutely wron for doing it . But he's no worse than the Arnav Singh raizada or the ishqbaaz guys .

i am a hardcore arnav singh raizada fan..and it still hurts to hear that..😭

but u r right..in a telesoap no heros are better or worse compared to uma..all have its own flaws..and people will soon like the pair..and want them together forever..😉

Hey u might be right... But love can happen with anything... Seeing or no seeing. Over mails. Or just thqt someone exists.

In uma case it just happened that he got tp know koi hqi jo sirf uske liye bana hai... He just fell in love of that feeling.

And if marriage have happend by mistake then it would have illogical bcause in play , jhanki atleast in small towns dont apply sindoor, put manglasutra or take pheras. They are usually kids standing next each other. Then kanak cqnnot be shown this sharp... She ill officially be a dumb character.

You beleive it ot not, i was thinkng the same for the last 2 days... how worst uma is than the other heros? Yes they are strangers but what he did it is not different from my fav arnav😳 did to khushi or the present shivay did to anika. both were forced. After the marraiges how much the heroiins were manhandled which was liked as chemisry, hot and what hot?

Again Uma told her to go twice but other heros forced them to be in the bandhan. Except the force marriage and some (stupid) principles that treat women badly, Uma didnt force kanak to do any thing forcefully. I am not supporting any forced marriage but i am saying as the TM says he is not worse than than any modern heros who are worshipped

I am glad you opened this thread, @weirdlynormal.

In a preview post I also reminded that forced marriage happened in other serials and i'm not bothered at all that the story starts like this( IPKKND 1 i have loved the most before TSMSP). Coming from a different culture, where this is not possible, I couldn't afford to be more vocal because i didn't want to offend anyone.

But this is fiction, not real life. We shouldn't judge the story from the beginning. Even if it's a wrong start , constrained relationships could transform into beautiful love stories (that's why we watch soaps)

This forced marriage is not the worse thing that happened between them. I would rather blame the way he was trying to force his beliefs and rules on her, even he seemed to be a kind man and to have feelings for her.

Being a story, i am sure each of them will pay for his misdeeds or will redeem his behavior.

It's true that we have our own expectations from this show and they are not fulfilled every time. But i guess the story would be boring if it will develop in a classical manner.

Lets's enjoy what writers imagination wants to propose to us.

But discussing is always welcome, i think.😉
