In a preview post I also reminded that forced marriage happened in other serials and i'm not bothered at all that the story starts like this( IPKKND 1 i have loved the most before TSMSP). Coming from a different culture, where this is not possible, I couldn't afford to be more vocal because i didn't want to offend anyone.
But this is fiction, not real life. We shouldn't judge the story from the beginning. Even if it's a wrong start , constrained relationships could transform into beautiful love stories (that's why we watch soaps)
This forced marriage is not the worse thing that happened between them. I would rather blame the way he was trying to force his beliefs and rules on her, even he seemed to be a kind man and to have feelings for her.
Being a story, i am sure each of them will pay for his misdeeds or will redeem his behavior.
It's true that we have our own expectations from this show and they are not fulfilled every time. But i guess the story would be boring if it will develop in a classical manner.
Lets's enjoy what writers imagination wants to propose to us.
But discussing is always welcome, i think.😉

Hey pls give me link of your post. I want to read it. Dont hesitate to express opinions here atleast we can freely express here anything😛

Anytime a hero using force is approved of it is approving of his misogyny. This trend should be stopped. Some of it superficial - based on the hero's physical looks...if Uma or Arnav were ugly would we cut them slack? And yes it's a soap...but, aren't these soaps supposed to reflect society's values or ideals? If not then Starplus should stop their "naya soch" nonsense.
So I don't think US or any other "hero" should be allowed to walk over the will of the heroine and not repent or pay for it. To date there has been no remorse or understanding/acknowledging by US that he wronged Kanak. Her returning does not undo his misdeeds. What he did was still wrong and the show makers have a responsibility to address this issue.

Yes they are strangers but what he did it is not different from my fav arnav😳 did to khushi or the present shivay did to anika. both were forced. After the marraiges how much the heroiins were manhandled which was liked as chemisry, hot and what hot?

Again Uma told her to go twice but other heros forced them to be in the bandhan. Except the force marriage and some (stupid) principles that treat women badly, Uma didnt force kanak to do any thing forcefully. I am not supporting any forced marriagebut i am saying as the TM says he is not worse than than any modern heros who are worshipped

same thoughts.. about to post a topic on this but stopped as I felt it maybe against forum rule.
comparing. to other leads...
if uma has to go to jail is correct then all other soap hero characters should visit jail ...and CVS should bail them :-))

I want all other leads to go to jail too

Dont worry its not double standards (atleast from my side)...cant stand any of the guys u mentioned plus loads more. Most of them deserve a long vacation in jail.

I just wish Indian TV would stop promoting such 'heroes' (read villain) and such 'love stories' (read toxic relationship and stockholm syndrome).

People says it's just fiction and does not affect reality which should hold true but then I come to I-F and see people wishing to marry Arnav Singh or abusing real life people over a male chauvanist character.

Some people on here even say Uma is a good husband and call Kanak immature for not giving into him or accepting him. I once saw a poll where Kanak came out as the least fave character and Uma as most favourite character.

Why just today I saw a topic asking in a shocked way...Uma is going to be negative (as if he wasnt negative already and oppressing Kanak)

Most people accept 'heroes' like Uma and Arnav because they're good looking and also because the narrative puts them in a good light (notice whenever another decent guy enters the girls life...he always turns out to be a creep and unrealistically negative so we can all root for the male lead).

All these girls deserve better than these cheap men.

The saving grace for this show is that Kanak has continuously fought against his beliefs and never accepted this sham of a marriage. The day she goes back to him before he feels remorse and changes is the day I will drop this show.

There a few decent serials that dont rely on forced marriages and man-handling/possessiveness. So not all are bad.

a much needed post...
I thought of this many times...
the answer may be simple as u said that uma is not of the typical angry men types on tv whom the fan girls drool at and all the abuse on fls taken as hotness and chemistryđŸ€Ș and the fls get bashed in contrast if they don't fall head over heels in love with that ml😆,in fact the same fan girls who can't hear a word against their abusive ml are also the ones who bash uma at the drop of a hat here😆...
and the other reason is since this is sequel to dabh which had a super fl and a ml nothing but a support system to her ,people expecting the same track here also...

You have opened up a can of worms here , but yes I agree, why do we watch these soaps that encourage this sort of behaviour & the male leads get away with it in other soaps , whereas with regards to Uma - it is send him to prison.

I Know people want escapism but this should not be encouraged as to many people believe what they watch & think that this is acceptable & then think they have right to do this sort of thing.

But Uma did it because 1. got so many signs from god and he's religious .
2. He actually did ask Maasisa to ask her and she did sorta say yes . she came all the way there and then was about to leave .
3. He never disrespected her after that like many other "heros" do in other serials .

All the bad things he does is because of his messed up interpretation of religion , not because he's a bad guy .

I mean he treated her quite well when in most other serials due to some "hate" track the man always secretly or openly treats the woman like shit .

I think that all shows show the same type of forced marriage situation , but people just freaked out over tsmsp .

I'm not saying what he did was right. He is absolutely wron for doing it . But he's no worse than the Arnav Singh raizada or the ishqbaaz guys .

agreed... Uma made 1mistake...after that he never disrespect her or force her physically...he always try to help her , drinking water task he never ask her or force her, infact he was feeling bad for her.
I somehow don't understand why people hate him so much...every luv story (TV soaps )starts with hate but .eventually they fall in luv...we just need some patience . This is a TV show...we just need time to see how they change themselves for good.

Sorry,..!!! i Dnt watch many shows but Reading from your post looks like forced marriage has become some sort of epidemic social behavior in star plus shows.đŸ˜”. cvs are pouring their heart/silly brain to treat the cuz with their bakwas planđŸ€”.
coming to our guy uma, He is a face of new generation stuck in a old school of thought. Its ok.

😉 he was successful until he met kanak committed a crime. Not to forget abt his rhetoric art of expressing about the lords signaling or sanket that pushed him to the bad boys list.
well, its left to us..to consider gods sanket and its expressiveness is a crime or not❓- well, thanks to TSMS FOR ENLIGHTINING US.😆

He does come across weirdo đŸ„ł sometime with his silly dharma dandaka/staff in his hand but, he knows very well to charm😎 the people of ladun & kanak.

Talking about real life, not fiction stories, not every bad thing we do is payed by money or legal constraints. Above all this there is a more powerful universal law ,karma, or "you get what you are", or name it how you like it. If for a reason or another law can't punish, God'do justice every time.
We shouldn't ask the writers the way they should show that misdeeds are penalized. And i am sure it's not their intention to undervalue legality.Maybe they have a different view than ours about act and reward( thanks God there isn't any law that punishes writers who are not guided by legal books!)
Even in real life joints between good and bad people or between good and bad facts happen.Law doesn't wait around the corner to slap.
If in reality forced marriages or other abuses happen, it's not writers responsibility to show that police or other institutions do justice. It's legal entities responsability to do their job. People have to feel secure and protected by them, even they watch or not tv shows.
Did i became too loud? đŸ˜”
PS. I don't want to say that Uma shoudn't be punished by law, he deserves this lesson. But i don't mind if cvs decide to go on other path. It's romance show, not reportage.
