I, for once would like to see focus on victims and their family. On how victims heal themselves, the change in dynamics of family, how do they change personally, what if they become pregnant, their relation with loved one. It is one of the most traumatic experience. Can that fear and pain disappear overnight even if perps are hanged by law. 😳

Great thoughts for MOM 2 - But the theme very likely will be a critical success with at the most 10CR lifetime earnings. 😳

Agree the story in MOM, the rape-revenge has been done to death. But it is all in the execution.

I grew up on South movies and one of the most traumatizing things about them was, a sister or even a lover would get raped by a villain or villains, it would be graphic with the girl in a sari and being disrobed by one guy or multiple guys, their faces contorted with rage, hers fearful. the sari would be off, she would be standing in a blouse and a petticoat and screaming. Next scene she would be dropped off somewhere, clothes torn, crying and the scene after would be a suicide by hanging or throwing oneself on a track. This would set in motion the revenge.

Matr was in that mold for me. In MOM, what made the difference was how the rape was treated. The horror of the rape was shown by what the girl felt. How she scrubbed herself fully clothed under a shower, her reaction on seeing her dad, her screaming at one point seeing Sri, not seeing the light.

Most of all, the acting was what set apart a run of the mill movie. I could say things about the script, but what elevated it was the acting. Sajal especially conveyed the trauma of rape.

Because this is at least the third time she is depicting the role of a rape victim...

I have seen at least two Pakistani dramas of her as a rape/molestation victim...šŸ˜•

In another one she actually acts as a fake victim trying to wrongly accuse her would be step father(enacted by THE Fawad Khan)

Really ? 😲. I did not know. She was very good.

Can you tell me names of the Paki dramas ? I would like to check her out. She seems like a natural in acting, nothing scary like the OTT acting of Indian TV dramas.

Oh, she is one of the ace actors in the Pakistani drama industry...I absolutely love her natural and subtle acting...I will suggest one drama which is an out and out romantic drama (no rape or any disturbing elements but a sweet story)...'Tum mere kya ho'...

Sridevi or Madhuri - the bigger star during their respective primes?

Not asking about your fav or who was the better actress. Just asking who was more popular, the bigger superstar, and had more cultural impact...
