In another on going thread we were having an discussion about whether we should separate a person's work with his personal life or not. Since this is a bollywood forum and actors are the most popular part of them, the face of a movie. Should we not judge an actor's acting ability based on his real life activity. Or boycotting his movies because of his real life kand is a better option?
Or it is better to understand that a person's body of work and what he is in real life as a person is a different concept, spectrum and in simple words, thing. Anyways there are two conclusion, lets see what IF thinks.
Your thoughts, Your thoughts.

No...movies are for entertainment...u pay money and u get ur goods...I watch any good movie...I watched Bajrangi in theater after the rave reviews it got and will probably watch TZH also if it gets good reviews. Waise toh we should stop buying a lot of products because their owners have wronged the society somewhere.

There will be no movie to watch in any industry if we go by that logic. They all have hidden and not so hidden secrets. Skeletons in closet should not affect their movie as long as the movie is entertaining. 😳

In my opinion, a line needs to be drawn.. If it is matters like cheating, nope
But if it is something that is impacting the society, yes

What I feel is what we know of personal lives of these celebs would be like only 1% or even less . Based on negative blinds or some relationships gone sour , we can't judge. There might be so many amazing things they might have done which we know nothing about.
When we commoners work , we succeed or fail based on our hard work or lack of it in office and bosses surely don't care how we are as human beings to our family or friends or beaus. Personal lives are irrelevant there too.

If Salman Khan ran over your father or uncle in his car and they died would you continue to watch his movies in the theatre or boycott?
If he repeatedly beat up and verbally abused and traumatised your sister or best friend - what would you do? Separate his personal life from his work?
It's "just entertainment" after all? Or not.

There is something called ETHICS - people should check up on it.

Obviously no.

But, if any of my favs ever do something as heinous as murder/crime then definitely not only I'll start hating them but I'd not be excited or interested to even watch their films as well.

It depends. I don't think cheating, philandering, having 10 kids or illegitimate kids or whatever really matters. That is their personal life and only affects them and people in their own vicinity. It doesn't matter if they have bad relationships with their parents or hate their sisters or talk too much, etc.

But I would not support rapists, murderers, criminals or abusers. These people would not even be able to get normal desk jobs because nobody wants law breakers in their office.

I would not pay to support people like Chris Brown or Salman Khan, sorry. But to each their own. Watching for free if they're not gonna benefit off it directly might be okay but some people oppose that too.
