The difference between Maya and Samay is that Samay has only lust for Maya. He craved for her physically when they first met. He said that he fell in love with her later but I am unable to buy his story, And his recent actions go against his uttering that he loves Maya. Right now he wants to covet her physically at any cost and does not even care for the fact that she is pregnant.

I believe Samay needed his love to be endorsed by Maya only! She did acknowledge his 'love' during petrol burning incident, police shoot-out incident, Sagai day of Saanjh and finally in her infamous SMS that triggered Prem's death!

So if Samay calls his lust as love and Maya knowingly agrees with him, who can object their wisdom?

And very importantly, no love will be true if the trust is missing in their love!

Maya was ready to burn herself and dropped the burning match stick in the pool of petrol, knowing fully well that samay/Rajiv would not let her die!

That is trust and his lust is having this trust embedded, so true in virtue & lasting for good eight years!

Samay kept his end of bargain all along but she let him down multiple times!

He was even willing to sit with Saanjh for marriage in the eleventh hour with all the risk associated, for whom?

He was truthful & reliable even though his methods were disgusting! But Maya asked for trouble because of her betrayal!

She is neither truthful to Samay in her business deals nor truthful to Arjun in her married life!
