So Mayas character is unlikely to satisfy all the criteria for diagnosing and fitting into any of the psychiatric disorders.

I appreciate your effort and the research that must have gone into putting this up. 👍🏼 With due respect though, I disagree completely. According to the checklist provided, Maya's character matches more than half of them. Not sure if you have watched all the episodes till date, may be that's why you might have missed out on a lot of details. Having said that, I think the writers haven't written Maya's character keeping a specific condition in mind which is why its tough to categorise her under one condition or disorder. She's more of hotchpotch of multiple disorders put together and the closest she comes to is that of a psychopath.

Every sociopaths are different. Some know to control themselves and hide between people and some goes for experiencing their thrills of pleasure. And Jennifer had said that she will be playing a sociopath.
Maya can be a sociopath and sometimes they are very capable of controlling their urges and sometimes they choose not to. And these people cannot be changed but can be made better. But no sympathy is given to a sociopath when committed a crime because these people have zero capacity of feeling empathy or guilt. So when Maya gets caught either she will face her trial and sent to a mental asylum or she may face consequences as a norml person.

Most psychopaths tend to victimize people out of a sadistic need to do so. Or they gain some pleasure or a payoff in doing so. I think in Maya's case, we have seen that she does abuse and victimize, but only when SHE herself feels threatened by them. Or in order to revenge herself on someone, she thinks threatened her or the people she deems important to her. She doesn't do it just for kicks or without a rhyme or reason. If that makes sense.

Her appealing to Vandana to "Not give me a reason to be bad", is pretty much telling her to not make her feel threatened so she has to take her own revengeful steps. She is NOT normal. Her way of dealing with people who threaten her or her relationships, is not what normal people would do. She goes to extremes and she also uses people. (Samay).

I agree that the writing is not of a standard that we are easily able to "Categorize" Maya. I think she has psychopathic tendencies, but she does not fit into the totally classic example of a psychopath. (The indecent where she tried to put the fire out of Saanjh's dupatta with her hands. The time where she touched Vandana's feet and sincerely appealed to her to accept her. The times she was petrified of Ashwin. The time she jumped off the bridge to save Jhanvi, and the time she took off in the jet boat to save Arjun) ALL those indicate she does have another layer to her. Therefore she is a lot more complex than a cookie cutter version of a psychopath. This is my struggle in "Boxing" her into one thing.

One thing I think we can ALL agree on is, Maya is One Crazy Mother! LOL

I agree with this marking scheme... I already mentioned in some other post (which you have quoted) why I feel Maya isn't a psychopath... And my conclusion is by comparing her with jeffery dahmer and ted bundy

@Hadhsejyada I am now wondering whether Maya has any serious illness or she is just mentally unstable due to her circumstances. Because as the story unravels especially yesterday's episode it shows Maya is a woman who has been taught by the world to win by head and not heart. She has been taught this world exploits and exploitation is the way for success. Her actions are that of revenge for the exploitation happened to her or the perceived exploitation she thinks is happening to her.

maya is a low life thats all she is worst than ahwin
