Back when I was a kid/teenager I used to love watching all the 90's films. They seemed fun and entertaining. I wouldn't say growing up has changed me completely but, films now just don't seem to have that spark anymore?

What do you think?

Bollywood thinks it can give us any crap and we will lap it up. Laziness basically.
To be honest, movies in the 90s weren't all that great. But there was not much by way of competition. So BW could get away with almost anything.
That's no longer the case as we have lots of options now. Bollywood is either unaware of the audience pulse or is too lazy to really pull up their socks and come up with something new and compete with the other superior entertainment options we have been exposed to.

Yeah, 90's films were not great but maybe the nostalgia makes me think they were more entertaining than the crap spewed out today.

I feel the same way now. for me it was that we had to study a lot and films was like once every 2 weeks or a month type thing and that too of major stars not everyone. no trailer no nothing straight vcr stuff. and on top of that it was a family thing where whole family was gathered together to watch movies which were less vulgar than today's movies.
I think that all added to the fun and had good feel and memories plus we were kids and movies were much more enjoyable. Oh and the songs were amazing and meaningful too.

I think it's just nostalgia and nothing else. Even I used to enjoy movies more in my childhood but when I look back, I think the movies made in 90s and 00s were nothing great. I still like to watch some of the old movies like MHN, but I can understand that it's just nostalgia and the movies are not really that good. Infact, 90s and 00s were pretty bad years for Indian Cinema in terms of content.

Today's generation movies, I don't enjoy that much like I used to enjoy the previous decade's movies, since I've grown up. 😆

But still I think that Bollywood has grown in terms of producing more quality movies in this decade than previous decade.
I think by lacking the spark, you mean repeat value?? I'll agree with that. Today's movies definitely lack repeat value. Maybe because today's movies lack the feel-good factor.

Because you have grown up. You have so many other options for entertainment and don't think FB/whatsapp/partying and even internet was part of childhood. So movies used to be one of the main/major timepass during that time. Now with so many alternatives and busy life the charm of movies won't remain same.
