The former Miss World has quoted Rs 6 crore to be on board for the historical drama starring Chiranjeevi.
Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is set to return to Telugu cinema as the leading lady for megastar Chiranjeevi's upcoming historical drama Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. The actor, last seen in Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has given her nod to play the female lead opposite Chiru in the biopic based on Polygar Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.
According to our well-placed sources, Aishwarya has quoted a whopping Rs 6 crore as her remuneration and agreed to give limited call sheets to the film to be helmed by Surender Reddy and produced by Ram Charan.
"Ram Charan has been contemplating to cast a Bollywood actor opposite his dad in the film and weighed several options. After many deliberations where Vidya Balan's name did the rounds for a while, he had got Aishwarya Rai on board for the magnum opus. She will shoot for a few days and her portions will be shot at one go due to her other commitments including a film rumoured to be directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Ram Charan and the team are delighted to have Aish in the film, informs a source.
The film marks her first collaboration with Chiranjeevi and second in Telugu after a special number in Nagarjuna's Ravoyi Chandamama.
There were also reports that Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan will play a role in the film and there seems to be no truth in it.
Grapevine is that the film will have two music composers and already SS Thaman has been finalised. The team is also planning to bring on board a Bollywood music composer for the film before July if their idea of roping in AR Rahman doesn't materialise. Currently, the script work is underway and the team is also penning the dialogue version.
"Chiru and Charan want the team to do extensive research on the script and are also specific about the dialogues. They have entrusted the responsibility to a band of writers, including Paruchuri Brothers, adds the source.
In all probability, the film will go on floors on August 22 coinciding with Chiru's birthday and the regular shooting will commence in September. Ravi Varma will crank the lens and Rajeevan is the production designer.

It's a romantic drama, which will be a bilingual and will be made in Hindi and Tamil. The two were in talks for a film for years and it's finally happening. We reached out to both Ash and Mani, but both of them chose not to respond.
