Looks like the Star plus 8pm slot is jinxed .
No show is running in it more than 1.5 yr to say the max.
The maximum time a show ran in this slot was the same Iss Pyaar ko kya naam doon S1, and that too was in 2012 and it is now 2017.
I dunno which show replaced it, but even that show went off air after a few months and was replaced with a show called Meri Bhabi, which again went off air and got replaced...this went on and on.
The major fact that I've noticed is that whenever a show in this slot starts to gain numbers, star plus pulls it off air and replaced it with another show.

Now, if you talk about Siya Ke Ram, see first of all, it was what the channelwalas call a "Finite show"(Read:People will complain to the channel if you drag it too much).
2nd, it was a mytho show and at that time, people were too high on mythology(and historicals) and watching anything labelled with that.
Plus SKR, you can say, some what of a successor to Jodha Akbar, that is , the show used wrong mythological interpretations that offended a section of the viewers and the channel and PH used the negative publicity to leverage their show
But even in June 2016, this show lost its slot topper position to Shakti.
And its eventual replacement Pardes openned to good trps, but could never gain channel topper slot .
And now , after weeks of low trps , the show has finally started to gain viewership and now ready to go off air!
What kind of joke is this!
And ipkknd 3 looks like a dark and gloomy story from what I've heard.
Plus the S1 was a lighthearted fun story appealing to every age group.
Even the bengali remake was a big hit.
Its obvious that half of the Trp aunties who watch pardes won't watch this show
Plus trp equations have changed from 2012 to 2017.
And the leading lady, sanaya irani has been replaced by a little known face who isn't exactly lead material, though I like shivani a lot.
And ofcourse, you can find a hell lot of negativity surrounding ipkknd 3 outside IndiaForums.
And you know, a dark story with centering around a male protagonist never really works except if it's a mytho or a historicals.
And I have seen ekta stretching her shows like a rubber band until they get extreme low trps and she's also extremely particular of the time slot of the show.
Otherwise, pavitra rishta would've gone off air in 2013 and Pardes would've a time slot change in February only.
Since both of these above written situations didn't happen and taking all other points in account,I am certain that Pardes will run at 8pm time slot for atleast another 6 months or even 1 yr when finally it'll get low enough TRPS for Star Plus bhaiyaas to convince Ekta maiyaa that it's time to take Pardes off air and then she will replace it with another of her bhangaar show
That's why we aren't getting concrete info regarding Pardes's broadcast status.
If it would've gone off air in June 23, then confirmed info would've come till now.
It is clear Ekta is negotiating with the channel though Gul also wants the 8pm slot.
And the channel is now trying to keep both ladies happy.
See , ishqbaaz may be a really popular show online, but its entry in the top 10 is rare and it only really gained 6th position after they did the Mahasangam.
Plus, even after that , they couldn't manage to beat YHM.
See, if they take DBO(the most likely choice if Ekta wins the battle of time slots) off air, it would be beneficial to both Gul and channel that Ishqbaaz will earn a concrete position in the Top 10 and Gul also don't have to work on an extra show( it already looks like she doesn't want to pay attention to DBO) .
But since it seems that Ekta has taken Pardes on her ego, so if the channel forcefully pulls it off air and gives ipkknd 3 the slot, then Ekta will also close her remaining shows and break her ties with Star Plus.
And if ipkknd 3 doesn't gets the expected trps(it won't , given the theme and the fact there is over emphasis on ML and he isn't even as pleasant as Arjun) , the channelwalas won't even get a shoulder to cry on.
That's why ipkknd 3 doesn't have a launch date yet, despite itna hype
Star Plus is weighing its options.
So we have to wait till the official declaration comes.
Till then, Pardes have a 50-50 chance to pass the ipkknd test.
