A cold wind blew, giving her goosebumps. She looked at the wall clock. It was beyond 1. She sat up straight, her eyes swollen due to all the crying. She looked around, and soon her expression turned to a worrisome one.
Where was he?
She got up and looked around. No where!
She came back and sat on the couch. Her expression pained, as she remembered what had happened. He had done it once again. He said he trusted her. But, every time he chose to question her. Why couldn't he comprehend her silence at first.! A lone tear rolled down her cheeks. She was tired. Tired of crying. Tired of fighting. Tired of ...
No she can't give up. His words, echoed in her ears.
"We will face it all together, nothing can separate us, Nothing!"
Once again the entire happenings of the evening ran through her head. Her eyes widened as the flashes of his pained face.
Prinku had raised her voice in front of Shivaay for the very first time. Prinku had not only gone against his wish, but had hurt him deep down. She had pushed Shivaay away. The very same person, who had almost risked his marriage, his Anika for the sake of her reputation. The same elder brother who had been there with her all along as a Father when she needs one. The same who could give anything even his Life for her.
"Shivaay!" She exclaimed on fear. He must be in a terrible state.
She ran out like a maniac looking for him. He was no where to be found.
Kitchen? She ran to the kitchen.
Sh din't find him there but she found HIS Sister, Prinku. She slowly moved ahead and stood behind the pillar. She was sitting on the couch by the kitchen, staring away at a photo of the four of them in kitchen. It was a pretty old photo. Rudra and Prinku would have been twenty or less. She was sobbing almost silently. Anika's heart wrenched seeing her like that.
She wasn't just her best friend now, she was her sister as well. She finally decided to go and speak to her.But stopped midway,
"Meri Behen Aur Mere Beech Mein Koi Nahi Bolega"
She couldn't. She just couldn't.
A lone tear rolled down her cheek, she wiped it away swiftly.
She was going to leave when she heard Prinku speaking to the photo. She turned back and watched.
"I m Sorry Bhaiya, I know, Maine aapko bahut hurt kiya...aap dono ko bahut hurt kiya, But I couldnt see you do anything wrong, can never let my Superheroes regret. You were always there for me. But, Maine ..." She broke down crying. Anika could no longer stay away. Prinku needed her brothers her support, and when HE wasn't around she would do the needful. She quickly went and sat by her side taking her in embrace, hushing her down.
Her eyes red she looked up, It was her "Bhaabhi". She quickly hugged her back crying away on her shoulder. She was the luckiest, she had the best brothers, and if that wasn't enough, she had got the best Bhaabhis as well. A while ago Gauri was there by her side and now Anika. She loved calling her Bhaabhi, despite the fact that Anika asked her to call her as she used to do before. But she liked " Bhaabhi" because she was a reflection of Shivaay Bhaiya. She was there to protect her when she was he friend also. She always took care of her as an elder sister and spent time with her like the "Best Buddy". But what she got from her.? She got, humiliated againfor being there fo her.! She cried harder.
" I m Sorry Bhaabhi, Meri wajah se Bhaiya he aapko...
She was cut off by Anika "Shhh... Teri koi galti nahi hai main jaanti hoon...ab ye Rona dhona band kar... Ek dum pichki hui tamaatar ho gayi hai.!"
They broke apart smiling as Anika gently kissed her forehead-"Prinku ek baat yaad rakhna... Chaaye kuch bhi ho...Main aur Bhaiya humesha tere saath hai...! Abhi thode gussa hai...lekin dehkna kal sab theek kar denge wo!"
Once again tears made way to Prinku's eyes.
She looked away staring at blank space.
Prinku-"Aapko pata hai Bhabhi, jab mujhe Science lena thaa buy I was scared to out my opinion, Papa wanted me to take up Business ...Bhaiya and Om Bhai wanted me to pursue Science because it was my favorite, they knew me, They always decided the Best Of The Best For Me...I never had to ask them for anything... They gave me Everything. They gave me love.They gave me Care. I know they forget Raksha Bandhan, but their last minute surprises are the best. Aur mere Birthday pe they have the Best Gifts for me. They have raised me like a princess. But aaj Jo hua...It's all my fault...I m very scared, O bhaiya aur Shivaay bhaiya ...what if they stop talking to me...! Her damn broke once again.
"Galtiyaan Sab Se Hoti Hai..!" The voice approach them, it was Omkara.
Prinku clutched the end of her dupatta, as she saw his serious expression, at once she looked down, wiping away her tears, she knew they hated it.
"I m very Sorry Bhaiya, Mujhe waise behave nahi karna chaiye thaa..!" She spoke in between her sobs.
"Pagli Prinku, ab gale bhi nahi lage gi?" Her face lit up and she hugged Omkara at once. While Anika smiled wiping away the teats of happiness.
Omkara saw that. His heart pained. He felt Anika's pain. Time and again she had proved her loyalty to the family and Shivaay an yet every time she had to. Until when, until when will she have to keep going through this.? He wondered.
"Chal..!" He said holding her hand.
"Nahi Bhaiya, I can't face Bhaiya, I can't see him hate me!" She said.
Anika looked down at her words, she knew how it felt in his hate. Another tear rolled down. She turned and wiped it, lest the duo should noticed. She had forgotten, Omkara had the capability of reading pain.
"Don't worry , Prinku I will speak to him.! " He assured his sister. But she just nodded in a no.
Finally Anika spoke up-"Lekin Shivaay hain kahan? Maine har jagah dhoondh liya!"
Omkara wore a knowing smile-"Prinku ki favorite jagah par hoga...Terrace Garden!" He said wiping the tiny drop that rolled down his sister's cheek.
Anika smiled as Omkara left, along with Prinku. She quitely followed them, she just wanted to make sure he was okay.
While Omkara and Prinku entered after Prinku showing much reluctance, Anika stood away at the door. She caught a glimpse of his face, he was sitting on the bench looking away at the dark sky.
Prinku went before him and kneeled down holding his hands. He oriented himself in a diagonal direction, freeing his hands from her hold. She tried hard not to cry.
"Bhaiya..!" She spoke softly.
Something pulled hard in his heart, he could feel the pain and despair in her voice. But wore indifference.
"Bhaiya, please talk to me...I m Sorry Bhaiya...Maine aapka dil bahut dukhaya...I m sorry..!" She said holding his hands and bowing her head on them and crying hard. "I know I hurt You Bhaiya!"
She was more scared now. She wouldn't mind,his screams,his anger, his scolding but his silence pricked her. "Bhaiya..plz talk to me...aap mujhe bahut daatiye...hit me if you want...plz talk to me!"
And he turned at once making her look at him."Don't you dare say that.!" He supported her and made her sit beside him.
"Prinku, you have done wrong!" He said looking at her, his heart paining, but he had to do it, show her the way. "Did you see Badi Maa! Ek baar unka khayala aaya..! Did you think of Daadi,unhe kaisa lage gaawhen she comes to know that her Rajkumari married ...aise...shaadi ki...uses aaadmi se shaadi ki...! Did you once think about us, hum Bhaiyon ko kaisa lage gaa! "
She cried harder, as he showed her the mirror. He was right.
"Prinku you did wrong! And I m sorry, I can't help you now...You have to fight this time, I can't fight for you! "
She held his hand, and cried.
He hugged her, calming her down-"I can't fight for you, but remember I m always with you. And I m sorry as well, For letting those tears come in your eyes. "
She hugged him once again and cried placing her head in his chest. He gently stroked her head, as Omkara joined the hug.
"Prinku Pehlwaana is a fighter, Right! Aur Jab Pehlwaane Ke Bhai Ho Uske Saath Toh Darne Ki Kya Baat!"
A pair of eyes, watched the scene and had tears. A blend of the happy and sad ones. She rested her head against the wall as she saw them in a warm, caring embrace, while the cold wind blew over her, making her skin grow colder by the minute.
When suddenly there was a hand on her shoulder. Taken aback. She wiped her tears on reflex, she was a pro at it bye now. But all she saw was tears. It was the little woman.Anika smiled at her pretending, nothing had happened. Gauri peeped at the scene, at the trio Anika was looking at. She smiled amidst her tears. And almost suddenly took the taller lady in embrace. Anika's eyes widened at the sudden warmth that engulfed her. She couldn't keep it all. She cried, she cried hard. While Gauri's eyes pained.
Both din't understand the connection they had. Gauri's heart pained when she saw pain in Anika's eyes. She loved the way Anika cared for her, despite the fact it was hardly sometime they knew each other. The sister connect was baffling. She just smiled as she felt home in her arms. Maybe somewhere, where ever her sister was she would feel the warmth too.
Anika never understood how this woman understood her so well. She din't know why and how she always saw her pain. She felt heaven.
Maybe , Maybe it was Fate's way of compensating for their lost Sibling Love.
Unaware to them a pair of eyes smiled as he finally felt, his Bhaabhi was home, his Bhaabhi was taken care of.
