Why is Vijaygarh kindgom so weak in defense? Naugarh threatens to ruin it. And Naugarh army was really very large compared to Vijaygarh army as shown in Viru vs SD fight episode. Vijaygarh only use talwars while Naugarh used bow and arrows too. Jai Singh is worried of Chunargarh and its khunkhaars. Badri once threatened to Viru that if he don't leave with him to Chunargarh then the khunkhaars will attack Vjaygarh. In last Saturday's episode, Viru told Mareech that he will rectify his mistake of doubting him by attacking Vijaygarh. Chunargarh used bows and arrows even 100 years ago that is in 1st episode by the khunkhaars when Mareech attacks Harsh and Chandrika.

Was Vijaygarh kingdom weak in the novel and DD version of the show also? Or the makers are purposely showing Vijaygarh kingdom weak as its heroine's family? And in most of the shows, the heroine's family is shown much weaker than hero and villain's family. If Viru would not have managed to make the fight one on one instead of fight between both the armies Vijaygarh would have easily lost with even Viru killed and CK made a daasi. He said something like Naugarh sena ke saamne Vijaygarh ki sena tinke ki tarah bikhar jaayenge. Also, Vijaygarh people gave their utensils and farming plough to melt them for swords. Is Vijaygarh really weak? Kroor Singh called Naugarh having chaturangini sena which means army on elephant, horse, rath and on foot. But Vijaygarh don't have that. Also, Maan Singh being a senapati was so easily killed by Viru in the 2nd episode without even a little fight. He looked like a new soldier instead of a senapati.

Good one!!! The fact is that Indian TV serials are always made like this. This is the concept.. "One man army" . They don't need anyone else.. few soldiers on standby mode or Mantris also on standby mode.. But not to have anything more to do than standing and yelling few lines or giving expressions ..that's it. Makers don't go into details like even a small Rajya needs Senapati and Ministers. The way in which the sequence was shot ..it really made VG look pitiful. VG is a smaller state than NG and Virendra had to be shown as a Savior of VG and to start the love angle as well ..that plot was needed but still could have been better without making VG looks so weak.

I guess VG is a small State in comparison with NG or CG. Moreover it coexist peacefully with other States too so they don't need to have a huge armed forces.
As they say, it's an Indian show after all. But I didn't think VG was described a weak state in the novel or DD version.

I stopped reading the novel after few chapters but so far what I read, Vijaygarh is a small kingdom but not weak. Naugrah and Vijaygarh are rivals in the novel, the King of Vijaygarh (CK's dad) is an idiot he is manipulated by krur all the time and he does not care about his daughter at all. He wants to kill Virendra.
But even when these kingdoms are rivals, they do not go on war because they are smart people. The Kings play politics in the novel such as "lets kill the crown prince or the king". Killing the crown prince/King would be automatic failure of the kingdom even if they have the largest or the strongest army. If there is no one to lead, that army is bound to fail.

Now Shivdutt is as wicked in the novel as he is shown in the TV show. Once he hears of CK's beauty he wants her but he too plays politics rather than going on war directly.

If they decided to follow the novel A to Z, I would have been so bored with all the nonsense politics. I am happy with the changes they made.

To answer your question, in this show instead of showing CK's dad as a jerk they decided to show a weak kingdom. Else, her house would be full of negative (atleast in the show her dad loves her no matter how stupid he is)

Till now only CK herself has shown to be okay in defense skills. Fighting against a man that also a senapati of the rival army even being her first time is not easy. She lasted against him for 4-5 minutes and got only 2 injuries till Viru came in her place. Anyone else in her place would not have been able to even stand properly in front of a man of higher rank like senapati let alone showing defensive skills of escaping the sword the again and again and using her legs and knees to hit him. Except her, no one has shown their proper fighting skills even after being trained a lot.

Maan Singh- He was of the higher rank as a senapati but still can't hit Viru even once or defend himself. We know Viru is very strong but a man of senapati post is not less. He could have given a tough fight to Viru before being overpowered by him and eventually killed.

Kroor Singh and his 2 aiyyars- Never even shown fighting an enemy.

Champa and Chapla- They were shown too weak as aiyyars with the latter being almost killed by SD twice. Tej Singh and Badri are strong as aiyyars but they were never shown to fight or defend.

Vijaygarh army- Gave up their weapons too easily after Kroor Singh told them to do so. If Viru was not there then either SD would have taken away CK or CK killed herself.

No wonder anyone targets them for war be it Naugarh or be it Chunargarh.

Even in India's biggest blockbuster 'Baahubali 2' Kuntal Desh (Devsena's kingdom) was weak in defence. It is always shown like this the female lead's kingdom is weak so our hero can come to her defence.
