Hi grace beautiful post. Agree with you in the sense that she tried in imparting values to her kids unlike RR who never taught her son the value of hard work, honesty and especially respecting women. But not on the fact that she stole because of majboori or circumstances. She gave wings to her dreams by crushing the dreams of another family and more importantly even when she had the means she failed to use her son's help in alleviating the sufferings of the family who was wronged by her to protect the love and faith her son had in her. I do believe in karmic justice and also that our kids suffer for our sins. Whatever RR and Vicki did to Ishwari's son was in a way what Ishwari did to the family who showed compassion to her when she was in dire need.

Neha found a sympathetic ear in Maami who tried to understand her which her mother never did. She genuinely cared for these kids and showed her caring side to Sona when she was injured during Diwali which Ishwari never did. During the infertility track both of them were equally bad.

Maami is also a product of Mamaji's neglect and disrespect wrt the love and care he shows to his sister which he failed to give to his wife and son. Even cactus has beautiful flowers. You will not get anything beautiful without effort or more correctly without nurturing it. RR spoiled Vicki because he was the only one who had been there for her. More than Maami and Vicki I would blame mamaji for his attitude like that of an Ostrich with its head in the sand.

Geena...I agree with each & every point of yours regarding RR & Vicky being a part of karmic justice. Infact, I have even mentioned it in my reply to timba's post in previous week analysis thread, that evenif Malti forgives Ishwari or Dev & Sona forgives RR & Vicky, there is a supreme power who sees & judges everyone. You are your actions will never be hidden from that power. That's why I believe that whatever RR & Vicky have done to Ishwari & Dev is in a way punishment for Ishwari's sins.

But the aim of my post was to highlight the differences in the upbringing by the 2 mothers. While one, inspite of she having committed a grave sin, never encouraged her son to go in a wrong path; whereas the other one formed a team with her son and chose the wrong way and please note, she didn't do it neither to achieve anything nor to satisfy her basic needs. She & her son has done all these kaands only to satisfy their greed. And no form of justification, whether it be Mamaji's neglect or disrespect, will nullify their deeds. If Mamaji showing more love & care to his sister was RR's problem, then why did she burn her own house and come to IN, whereas she herself had driven them out when Ishwari & kids were in dire need of a roof above them. So, for sure it is her greed that has driven RR all this time. That's why I am waiting to see what the karmic justice has in store for this duo...😊

" The greatest gift a father can give his children is to love their mother".
I understood what you were trying to convey grace. I am not disagreeing with your point on their upbringing of their kids. But neither Ishwari nor RR and Vicki should go scot-free for their deeds. If RR was greedy then Ishwari was also greedy. May be the level of greed and the degree to which they might go for what they wanted and the remorse they felt based on their actions might differ. By saying how Mamaji's disregard for his family might have fueled mamiji's action I was just trying to show the other side of the coin.
Mamaji loved someone else before he was forced to marry RR due to his family. I am not judging him based on this action of his. Even though he was unable to stand up for the one he loved because of family pressure he should never have committed to marry a girl whom he considered inferior to him in every aspect and whom he would never have any respect for. He should have stood by his commitment. If Sona was wrong in thinking Dev would change after marriage mamaji shouldn't have expected what she was not capable of from RR. But a little amount of care and respect towards her would have worked wonders. At every juncture she was made to feel inferior and compared to Ishwari. He went out of his way to help his sister when he used his PF that was his family's security and he couldn't have done that without mamiji's support even if reluctantly. RR didn't drive them out of their house when they needed a roof. They stayed in a single room - kitchen house and Ishwari and her kids were forced to stay in the courtyard until they got another house for rent.

I was just trying to see how RR would have felt when her husband could see only his sister and family and his own family was ignored and their importance in his life trivialized. It is no wonder that she feels entitled to everything Ishwari owns now even if it was Dev and Ishwari who toiled for it. I am not excusing their behaviour but would surely say that the monsters in his family is surely his own creation in case of mamaji.
