Why only Telugu??

I saw many on twitter and here too saying one have to watch Bahubali in Telugu to get the full "epic experience" I don't get this?😕 I haven't seen part 2 yet ...and I wanna know why this opinion ? I mean the movie is not dubbed ...as in completely dubbed ( dubbed means only voice over right?) but last time I saw Bahubali 1 the movie was actually shot in Tamil as well as Telugu. The lip syncs were definitely Tamil. For any dubbed film the original will always be the best. But Bahubali is not dubbed . It is a bilingual film has many scenes nearly 80% of the scenes are shot twice, except the songs and some major fight scenes. Also a lot of the actors are big names in the Tamil industry as well so So I din't feel any difference. I don't know about Hindi. But the movie is shot in Telugu as well as Tamil. So why this assumption??

The songs and the scenes were written in Telugu first. Tamil and Hindi were translated to fit in to the narrative. Besides, the actors' original voices are in Telugu. Overall Telugu version feels the more authentic..and I say this after having watched the Tamil and Hindi versions too.

I watched Hindi one. Tho, it's a good effort as they've tried using words which go with lip sync, still those are not original voices. IMO this is a turn off as no matter how much the dubbing artist tries he/she cannot match the actors who noe their characters inside out.

Telugu feels the most authentic and the director's vision. Mahishmathi for instance is called Magizhmathi in Tamil. The names of the characters too were pronounced different. It was jarring a bit though I am more familiar with Tamil than Telugu as a language.

In Hindi it sounded alien honestly. 😆. I think the costumes had a lot to do with it. Can't explain why.

Bahubali has turned into a pan india film. I don't know how the other versions are, I have only watched in Telugu. If some people felt the Telugu version more authentic, it could just be that the original was in that language.
The story writer, the director, the music director, lead actor and lead villan are all telugu people so maybe that kind of gave that little angle to it.

There is an opinion that telugu version hve better dialogues , hindi dub is more cheesy going over the top and dialogue don't have same impact

I think it's commonly known that any story told in an original language has that 'original' flavor in comparison to translated/dubbed versions.

I have not watched the movie in any language, but it was bound to be lost in translation.

It doesn't make the movie inferior though... just the nuances of expression/phrases in a dialogue would be lost but it wouldn't make that big a difference... maybe slightly :)

I don't think you'd know the difference unless you watch both and understand both? 😆 ...if direction/story/etc is good, it will surely be covered up... and besides, I doubt this movie was dialogue-centric... it's more plot-oriented, and not very dialogue-oriented.. so there must be no issues.

It's only when Telugu comedy movies(even if they are trashy action movies) that are 'dialogue' oriented are dubbed is when I have a big problem... because mainstream telugu hits are mostly hits because of the dialogues/comedy - atleast most commercial hits are. These movies, even if translated by world expert linguists would still be lost in translation because you have to be a telugu person or atleast know telugu or be a person born and brought up in Telangana or AP to thoroughly understand and enjoy it. But anyway, I digress.

One thing I noticed is the quality of dubbing of this movie is much better than other dubbed movies. Looks like they spent a good amount of time in post production and it wasnt a rushed job
