Kangana Ranaut to quit acting after Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi?

Kangana Ranaut is one of the best actors that Bollywood can boast of in the recent times. Her stellar performances have earned her the tag of Bollywood's reining Queen. But her next project Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi might be her swansong. The 30-year-old actor has decided to move on from acting to direction as soon as she wraps up her next.

After being in Bollywood for over a decade now, Kangana now wants to explore direction, and is in no mood to work with any more directors after Krish.

Kangana, who is in Varanasi to begin shooting for Manikarnika, told Mumbai Mirror in an interview, "I feel whatever I have done in the last 11 years has led me to it, it completes me, I am 30 now and I don't see myself working with another director after this. I will focus on being a filmmaker."

The actor also added that if she's ever act, it would be in her own films.

However, Kangana is excited about Manikarnika and wants to give her career-best performance. The Tanu Weds Manu actor said that she empathises with the warrior. "She had a great sense of right and wrong, fair and unfair, just and unjust. That's a quality I identify with her. The British did ask her to choose between life and death. She chose not to live without dignity and that's pretty much my philosophy. You cannot live without your pride as a woman," she told the daily.

The script of the film is written by none other than KV Vijayendra Prasad (of Baahubali fame) and the actor instantly fell in love with it. "I saw Baahubali 2 recently and thought it was an extraordinary film. He assured me Manikarnika would be no less," she added.

If this is true then I salute her for doing this favor on mankind ..

She will not quit acting. Instead she will turn director and direct herself which is good as directors wont become her bakras when her films flop or succeed.

She is not going to quit, she is just going to act in her own directed films. And the people that are saying she is doing favor by quitting acting, really? when she can act circles around your fave?! 😆

She isn't gonna to quit the acting ,she's just looking out to expand her horizon .
And even if she is planning to give up the acting then it is a loss of Bollywood given the dearth of actors with actual acting chops left .

I meant that Bollywood won't suffer if one psychopathic actress quits .. Ppl inside the forum can write essays on how she's a good actress but truth is all the top actors and actresses are a combination of good acting, looks, intelligence and image .. She has nothing but acting so what ? There are mili ions good actors and not necessary that they all deserve respect ..

She has to do some damage control... she has burned a lot many bridges...

Its good to be a rebel, but don't do it to people who you have work with..

May be she will only direct and act in her own films now
