Was Chandra the same in the novel and DD channel version too? - Page 5

I was a little kid when DD telecasted Chandrakanta. My parents used to watch that show.

As far as I remember, the title song was so good. I think Sonu Nigam had sung it.

The only people I remember from that show were Krur singh, Shivdutt, his wife and his sister/sister in law played by Kritika desai and Pandit Jagannath.

I don't remember the leads at all as I think, the show focused more on Shivdutt than the leads.

I actually liked Pankaj dheer and Durga jasraj's chemistry in that show.

Krur singh was truly one of the best characters of that show. He was a comic villain. This show's Krur singh is nothing in front of DD's Krur singh. The gut who's playing the role of Bapuji in Chidiya ghar played the role of Pandit Jagannath and he was brilliant in that show. Pandit Jagannath was not a negative character in that show. He was a very strong and powerful character.

Regarding Chandrakanta, I don't think she knew self defense. In that aspect,she is vulnerable. She didn't knew how to protect herself but she was mentally strong and intelligent. That's what they're going to show in this serial too.

Virendra will always protect her whenever she's in danger but she will always guide him and tell him to differentiate between right and wrong.

Even her daasis carry swords but not her. Gaurav said in his interview said that Chandrakanta is a character who don't anyone's help yet his character is always there to help her. So please clear my confusion that whether Chandra's characteristics was somewhat different in the novel and the DD channel version of the show.
