Though Chandra is impressive and not shown as selfless all the time I am not liking the fact that Chandra never carries a weapon wherever she goes not even a dagger. Even her daasis carry swords but not her. Gaurav said in his interview said that Chandrakanta is a character who don't anyone's help yet his character is always there to help her. So please clear my confusion that whether Chandra's characteristics was somewhat different in the novel and the DD channel version of the show.

Good ques...but i think she was same in the novel initially. Because she has 2 ayyars -chapla and champa it is their job to protect her. But once she is lost in tilisam, she will be alone at that point and that is when she has to become stronger to survive. Viru will be trying to be find her but he wont meet her until later i guess. I think that is what Viru meant when he said she will not need his help all the time.

Wow you have read the novel?😊

I haven't read the novel or watched the old DD show (is it on youtube?). However I have heard that the old DD show also didn't follow the novel...😊

Lol no I haven't read the novel but I know the story from my mom. I am trying to get the novel online though, I will let you guys know if I can find a pdf copy and if anyone is interested will email them. I think my mom once read it but not completed it. Because it has series, there are novels on their kids adventures as well 😃. But she did follow the DD show regularly. DD show was stopped in the middle, they never completed that show.

She is very excited that the show started again and she is absolutely loving it.

They have distorted the story to keep the suspense intact. But, When he said chandra is a strong woman i think he meant psychologically. Like the way she managed to protect viru so many times from shivdutt, the way she managed to avoid saying yes to shivdutt's proposal. She is courageous, brutally honest and never backs down from taking the rightful stand for herself and for others. I think that is what makes a woman stronger. Mental strength overpowers the physical strength anytime.

I am liking the fact that she is not a people pleaser for who those who are not nice. In 2nd epi, she blabberted on how she would have cut off that man(Viru's) head if she had a sword in her hand made me doubtful and also her going alone in those caves at night was not a small thing.

I haven't seen the previous series or read the novel so I don't know how CK's characterization was in them. But I am highly impressed with this CK's characterization.First of all she doesn't lose her mind in the face of adversities. She is extremely tactful and diplomatic in the manner in which she handles Shivdutt. She is practical too.Above all she doesn't hesitate before calling a spade a spade.I also admire the fact neither she is a bebas lachaar female lead nor does she give bhashans all the time.
This CK's character is extremely well written. She is far better than some of the doormat FLs nowadays.
