I don't know what convinced me to post this. But here we go. It's an alternate epilogue I had written for You and I Collide. But you can read it as a stand along and YAIC already has its epilogue. So I'm posting it as a one shot.
All you have to know is Gauri (Ri) is a heiress of her own right in this one.
He stopped running, taking a huge gulp of evening air. His hands fell numbly to his sides and the wind played with his hair. Finally, he breathed in peace, drinking in the sight in front of him. There she was, perched on the railing of their balcony, her shoe - less feet dangling a foot above the ground, her hair still tucked into a summer bun and her blazer crumpled into a day's worth of creases. She was staring at the sunset aimlessly, oblivious to his presence and tucked an escaped strand behind her ear.
Unable to take it anymore, Omkara snuggled his arms around her, holding her from back and digging his face in the crook of her neck. That comforting fragrance of lavender and mint filled his senses, lulling him back to the sanctuary of their love. God - how he missed her - this one week had almost killed him. To cap it all, she had been avoiding his calls too.
But he did not ask her that, in fact he said nothing about the entire week. Instead breathing her in he held her close, that unspoken intensity almost broke her apart. Ri gulped, oh - how much she missed this feeling? This incredible man? But then, perhaps this was a part of the last time she would see him so in love with her, even the thought, left a bitter taste in her mouth.
She struggled off his embrace, putting enough space between them so that she could look up into his dark eyes. Omkara watched her perplexed, trying to read that forlorn expression in her espresso eyes.
"There is something you should know Om," she spoke softly and then unable to stop herself, she let her fingers wonder over his stubble, caress is jaw. "I - I did something that you might not appreciate." Her eyes were doubtful, but her tone intent. She shrugged her shoulders. "But I'm not sorry for what I did, in fact I know I did the right thing. But - I'm afraid you are going to hate me for this."
His face whitened a little, other than that he did not show what he was feeling. Her eyes were hungry as she took him in, her fingers still caressing his face.
"You should know that I wasn't favoring anyone, I read both their proposals carefully, I discussed with seniors and I -" She swallowed. His hands rubbed her arms, encouraging her to continue, she almost closed her eyes to that soothing gesture. But no - she had to get this out of her system. "I voted for Mr. Oberoi instead of Shivay." She said it too fast, that Omkara had to strain his attention to make out her words. There was a silence in which she almost withdrew herself from his arms.
"This is why you weren't answering my calls?" His voice was suddenly cold. She almost shuddered at that icy tone and stepped back.
"I wanted to tell you this, looking into your eyes. I wanted to see you."
"You were worried I'd end things over phone?" He snorted. "Is that what you think of me?"
"No!" She protested firmly. "I just wanted to explain before you get some wrong idea. All these days I was going over it in my head - what should I tell you - how I should say it. Because I'm not ready to let you go - I - I love you!"
He said nothing and she blinked away a tear.
"If you want me to leave, I'm ready to go right now. But please know that I didn't care who he was, I was thinking of what he could do for Rivani group. I know you broke a five year old relationship over some documents she got you to sign for Mr. Oberoi, and I understand if your hatred for him runs deeper than -" She swallowed again, watching his eyes burn. "Alright, I'd be leaving then. Um - good night Om."
He pulled her back faster than she could have anticipated, one of his hands holding her waist and the other gripping her shoulder. She watched the way his eyes glittered in the setting sun, darker now - but not with hatred as she had initially feared. Lifting his hand from her shoulder, he slowly caressed her cheek, her throat, before cupping her face. She leaned into that touch, afraid to breath out and burst this moment.
"You're selfish you know?" He mused darkly, his breath fanning her face as he nipped at her throat. "Meri jaan nikal gayi thi, patha hai?" A surprised moan escaped her lips and he smirked against her skin, his stubble rasping over the tender skin of her throat as his lips traced the shape of her collar bone. As her heart rate quickened she realized he had skillfully removed her blazer a long while ago.
Her fingers got tangled in his hair, as she desperately tried to catch her breath, but she could not, with her mind robbed of sensible thought all she could think of was his mouth and his hands, playing a wicked game over her body.
Oh how he loved to do this, Omkara thought as she shuddered in his arms, whimpering restlessly, completely under his mercy. It was unbearably erotic when strong women fell weak to their desires, and Gauri was a lioness - his lioness. Omkara stepped back, staring at her messy state through hooded eyes. Her cheeks were flushed, eyes dark and chest having, she stretched out a hand to pull him closer. He caught it and kissed her knuckles, corners of his lips tugging upwards. This game was his as well as the rules, she made no moves tonight.
"You're not angry?" She wondered out loud, her voice husky and breathless.
"I am," he assured her. "Because you let me rot here for a week and worried over some stupid imagination of yours, yourself."
"But - But," she stammered as he started to nuzzle her jaw and cheek, wrapping his arm around her once more.
"You're right," he confessed in the end. "I hate him, but not more than I love you." The sun was gone, leaving the silver light of dusk glitter upon them. She glowed as she cupped his face, bringing their lips closer. "You have no idea how wonderful you are," he continued. You're selfish, you're brave, you're professional," his hands were caressing her again. "And you're mine - just mine."
"I love you." Both said together and grinned, just before their lips fussed together into a sweet kiss.
