happy lori

This is a festival to celebrate winter. People sing around a campfire and eat lots and lots of carbohydrates. Lots of sweets and sugary stuff is cooked. Sugar cane juice, sugar cane pudding, and caramelized nuts are just a few examples. Sarso ka Saag, mustard leaves, is also cooked. It is a very social holiday and children walk around door to door singing songs to get treats, kind off like Halloween.

Yes Azaan it is a Punjabi festival. If you watch movies, you may have seen it like in Veer-Zaara.

Anyway, Lodi was on the past weekend..we celebrated it, I enjoyed it..very fun to be around the warm fire, in this cold weather 😃
