Seriously I don't see how Madhuri the super beautiful actress. Was she good looking, yes. Did she became famous of her hot item numbers, yes. While there is no doubt she is the biggest BW female star of all time, but her being the beauty pinnacle of BW is something I seriously don't agree upon. she was never the beauty whom people would be like "wow look at that chic", at least for me. Now in another thread about Disha, people were like Disha is average looking and overrated but Madhuri is super beauty(someone on Ash's level). I found it ironic.
While Madhuri really had a warm smile and a hot body which she knew how to groove, I never found her the pinnacle of beauty.

Aishwariya is by far the most overrated so called "beauty" of all time. She's got beautiful eyes that's it. Otherwise she has below average looks & features. Never got the hype around her!

Madhuri is beautiful and has a beautiful smile, but yeah she isn't a breathtaking beauty, there are definitely prettier actresses than her in bollywood! Ash also is a lot more beautiful than madhuri for sure. I think madhuri is so higly rated mostly coz her charm and adaayen, which distinguished her from others.

As for me, earlier i used to find her beautiful, but now she looks plain boring to me.

And when madhuri debuted, she looked like a pretty average girl, i would definitely rate disha above than newly debuted madhuri [in terms of looks strictly]

She's average strictly going by physical attributes, but average is beautiful too :p

Okay, what makes her beautiful, that is 80% of her beauty comes from her grace, her expressions, her warm smile. There's a saying, that 'your smile is your best make up'.. no matter how a person may look, it's always the charm/vibes/aura/demeanor/mien that makes them beautiful - that reflects in their face/movements - mostly the eyes and smile.. That is why she's beautiful.. and in those days when acting was OTT, she used to do all that in a very graceful way that is hard to find.

Same with Sri Devi for me, she looks too much like a doll that I don't find her beautiful strictly going by physical attributes - but has a charm/grace that is again like Madhuri so unique and rare and makes her one of the most beautiful persons ever.

Infact, this is the same for all people we see in real life or on TV. Physically, they may or may not look beautiful - but it is always more than physical traits.. although, it's a hard thing to explain - it's like for example - the way they see, walk, smile, talk, express, bob their head, breathe! LOL. Vibes/aura/demeaor/mien is what gives a person beauty 80% of the time - cannot explain more..

as for being pinnacle of beauty... ah, that is subjective. Personally for me, there are innumerable other beautiful people too.

But the kind of grace she has shown in movies --- is rare - but not the at the pinnacle :p ..Not speaking of her acting, but the grace.

She was never known as greatest beauty. people compared her to madhu bala..because of her smile. madhubala is considered a great beauty. i dont find her as greatest beauty either. aish is good looking but to me she always looked like a lizard. deepika again and over rated

in terms of beauty anushka sharma is better than all of the above

note at baseline level all of the above are beautiful..i am talking about them not being greatest.

Almost all the BW heroines are over-rated. Not that they are not beautiful, rather most of them actually are very pretty. But not to the level that media makes them sound like. The Dream Girl, ultimate beauty, prettiest ever kind of tags are really annoying. It just makes the media guys sound like people who've not seen the real world. As it is, actresses in BW are less of actors and more of showpieces. These high end tags make them sound even more shallow.
