N I wonder we'll get to see Kanak helping Payal get out of dis ridiculous life..Coz Payal loves Ved, most probably!!

hiya Anjali, 😊 good to see you here.. yes may well be seen as against her wishes.. usually the girl's consent is sought. However the whole issue appears woolly, as the childhood marriage did take place.. interesting thought kanak supporting Payal inthe future perhaps? and me wondering if Kanak knows about it.? lovely to read your comment.. do share your views when you can.. love hammie

Hi Hammie
Oh I agree! He has quite a way with words! In fact one thing is for sure, can tell from just these few episode that my nickname for him is apt...uma sanskari-bhashan😆

However, that is still not manipulative because there was nothing unscrupulous in what he said or did in talking down Payal. We all might not relate or believe in what he said...zindagi ka laksh and all that but he does. He is persuasive yes but that is not the same as manipulative. There was nothing unscrupulous in his control of the situation nor in his persuasion.

Unscrupulous: having or showing no moral principles; not honest or fair.

Manipulative: exercising unscrupulous control or influence over a person or situation.

noo... i agree he was not unscruplous...
Manipulative: exercising unscrupulous control or influence over a person or situation.
but yes... he did wield power over Payal.. who to me was in a vulnerable situation, emtionally.. uma was manipulative ,in terms of using her situation to his family's advantage. he was manipulative ,in terms manoeuvering her sentiments .. .. looks like we agree to disagree mate.. respect for your thoughts.. and thanks for sharing thoughts about the imposing, impressive medicine man.. ok I do believe in a purpose driven life ..gives meaning to life... love hammie

Now you are equating the excercise of power and/or control over with manipulation!

Manipulative... Not MY definition but the English dictionary's: Exercising UNSCRUPULOUS control over a person or situation.

You have already agreed he wasn't, unscrupulous. Yes he exercised power and control. Only IF he had done what he did showing no morals or principles, can his control of the situation be defined as manipulative.

If you are citing the fact that he has a self interest in payal not killing herself, then probably yes he does, but that still does not make him manipulative based on this action or what we have seen of him so far. Later, who knows what they'll make this character do. In fact going by his character thus far, he would have talked ANYONE out of killing themselves even if he has no vested self or family interest, and given then a bhasan linked to a shashtra!😆
An action is manipulative IF its unscrupulous. You can disagree with the dictionary if you wish. 😃
