There have been several reports making the rounds about the casting of Aanand L. Rai's next starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. It was earlier revealed that both Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif will be playing the leading ladies in the film but none of them confirmed the news.
Now, it is stated that Deepika has opted out of the project due to Padmavati. The actor was totally on board and was set to shoot for the film after wrapping Padmavati. But due to the recent attacks on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film, the movie has got delayed further.
The film has started rolling in a popular studio in the city with the lead Shahid Kapoor filming his scenes. Deepika and Ranveer Singh will soon join the team and will continue shooting for the film. Despite much delays, SLB is adamant to complete the shoot for the film so that it can release on the decided date that is November 17, 2017.
Talking about it, a source stated, "While Deepika was quite keen on doing the film, unfortunately, her dates were clashing with those allotted to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati. Since she has already committed her dates to SLB's historical, she has had to say no to Aanand L Rai."
The source further said that Padmavati was supposed to wrap in the month of May and DP planned to start shooting for Rai's film immediately after that. But due to the delay, she had to give away more dates to Padmavati and let go off the film with SRK with a heavy heart.
