There are lots of story of different prespectives...I saw this story on one tv show...( i dont remember the name) ...but in one epi they show this story of vishwamitra nd menka...bt sooraj barjatya himself said that they research abt this serial for almost 8 years...nd some what characters are taken from that story and also they said they are inspired from swami vivekanand story too...( actually swami vivekanand real name was narendra nd naren) he was also a rich boy and leave his house after father death...nd in one story vivekanand's mom send one gal for attracting him...but she failed to do so nd become a disciple of him...bt from the first song the serial maker took from the movie sanyasi...'chal sanyasi' perfomance by hema malini...i read the story of that movie and came to know that this is the story of serial inspired from movie too..same joint family fiasco...big empire...evil relatives who want to conquer there assets nd make there son as owner of co...however ending of movie was very movie types...
