However, I am appalled that so many woman on this forum deny that Ayaan's actions and his cheap comments of how he was going to make Maya "not be able to show her face to the world" denotes anything but sexual assault. Maya cannot even hug her husband without being accused of rape (asleep or awake), but Ayaan who tore her clothes and even her leggings or the bottom of her dress, told her disgusting things about what he was going to do, that is worse than death for her, is doing anything but sexual assault. (I saw a comment that suggested he meant breaking her legs because that hurts more than killing her). I hope it was a joke, because that was ridiculous. The other one I saw was that he was threatening to "seperate her from Arjun" and this was what he meant? Seriously? Whatever!

Why do women here pretend that when a man says "I will give you a fate worse than death" that he is talking of raping her or of sexually assaulting her? What OTHER meaning do those words have? We all know what that line means? Just because this is Ayaan, who is Arjun's brother, we are wishing he meant something else. But no amount of wishing or hoping will negate the facts of what he did. When he said "I didn't do anything. Maya is lying", HE was lying through his teeth. We all saw he did do "something". He can't claim he didn't do "anything".

I think we have really not been shown the full extent of Ayaan's character. Even the actor himself once said in an interview that there is more to Ayaan. (This was many months ago). I don't think to date we have seen enough shades of him. But one thing we can count on in this show is that no one is as they seem. Maya should be punished for her deeds. She is also mentally ill. That part is clear. But Ayaan is not. He made a conscious choice to behave this way. This was his way of extracting his revenge from Maya or saving his brother? Well it was the wrong way. He should have known better than this! No matter what, Ayaan was wrong. Stop white washing his actions. Maya even if she is a killer did not deserve to be assaulted the way she was by her husband's own brother! As soon as he saw Arjun was tied up in the room, Ayaan should have called the police. Not assault Maya. So he is guilty of what he did. When he says he did nothing he is lying. Now I believe he was lying about the drugs thing too. Because when he said "Bhai Maine kuch nahi Kiya" he had the exact SAME expression he was giving Saanjh in the last episode. This time we all very well saw that usne kuch kiya hai! So it's quite possible that time was a lie too. Now I have some grave doubts about him, and he was my favourite Sharma!

Before anyone accuses me of being a Maya fan, yes I find her character interesting but I am not her blind fan and neither do I think she is right! I don't think she is just a victim. Sometimes she is a perpetrator too. Yes she was a victim of abuse, while that explains her way of being, I don't think that excuses her actions. If this happened to Saanjh I would feel just as strongly and just as bad! In fact I do not like Samaay for how he is using Saanjh as a means to an end. The only time I really liked him was when he pulled Ayaan off Maya and saved them both from a "fate worse than death".

@Unique Well said.👍🏼

1- Arjun was tied so he couldn't get up when Ayan was assaulting Maya.
2- Why did Samay reached there with police? He behaved as if he knew something like this happen😲
3- Most importantly when Arjun woke up he wasn't tied and the door wasn't locked from outside so it could be an indication that it was Maya's plan so that he can see her attempting suicide and save her.😳 This entire thing is so confusing

@bold- here we r forgetting that even samay was present with Maya when police arrested Ayaan. samay was still with maya only.. even after the police took Ayaan down n drove him away/.only saanjh and vandana were present that time. where was samay? still with maya? he took the keys somehow? he untied Arjun??? and left?? this can be the thing? nobody knows how and when samay left before Arjun woke up/

who unlocked the door and unitied Arjun? Answer- its Maya OR Samay.

At the end also when she was on floor and Ayan was actually trying to remove the keys underneath. That bite on the neck must be given by jhanvi not ayaan. I don't think Ayan will bite her to remove the keys. Ayaan at the most should be charged of physical assault.

🤣ohh god...this person is ridiculous!!

True, although I don't think what they said what specific illness it was. It could be something very mild too Anyway, that is irrelevant.

No one is a kidnapper, murderer or rapist by birth. Many times, serial killers claim to have mental illnesses in court. It is actually true in many of those cases. Does that mean we should sympathize with them and support them? No, that is preposterous.

No one is supporting Maya for her wrong actions. Yes, she should get punished for the crimes that are proved in the court. All that I say is Ayaan took the matter in his hands instead of approaching the cops. Even the threats he has made to Maya is also an offense. If Maya is wrong, she is. The same goes to other great souls like VM, Saanjh, Ayaan, or Arjun or whomsoever it is. The law is same for all.

Well, I am a clinical psychologist by profession and so I can speak with certain she definitely has a case a of mental illness.
And these aren't just some symptoms. While I don't watch the show on a regular basis I can say that she has more than enough symptoms to qualify for a diagnosis. And in the show no one has taken her to a psychiatrist/psychologist as yet so obviously there can be no diagnosis

I obviously meant for her crimes. If someone is mentally ill, but poses no harm to others, then obviously they shouldn't be locked up.

See even though it's all a matter of linguistics but locked up is still not correct word to use for someone who is mentally ill. Hospitalized, yes. Maybe even institutionalised if the 'institution' is humane enough, but they should never be locked up for their illness.

She needs support from a physician. You can't expect anyone to sympathize with a murderer, blackmailer and kidnapper.
Again linguistics, but a physician cannot help her. She needs to see a psychiatrist and a therapist. I don't want to come across as patronizing or know-it-all but I think we need to be aware of mental disorders and the correct terminologies even if it's just for awareness sake.
And more than sympathy she needs empathy.
