Part 23

Raman saw ishita bleeding from her nose... Lying unconscious in his arms... He has never been this scared in his life.. He felt like losing her for the second time in his life... He carried her to the hospital driving his car rashly... He reached the hospital and shouted like a maniac with her in his arms ..

Raman : doctorrr... Bachao meri ishita ko...

The wardboy came with the stretcher and took her to the icu as her condition was very critical...

Raman was crying bitterly peeping into the icu room...

After few minutes doctor came out of icu...

Seeing him raman rushed towards him and bombarded him with questions...

Raman : doctor, woh ishita teekh haina... Haina.. Kuch bolo doctor, tell she is fine...

Doctor : Mr.bhalla please sambaliye apne apko... She is not fine... She is still in critical condition... Isse pehle aisa kabhi hua hai kya... Like bleeding in nose or seizures?...

Raman : haan... Yes doctor kahi saal pehle.. May be six years ago... Aise hi hua tha... Please doctor... Please save her woh meri jaan hai... Uske bina mein maarjaonga... He said crying loudly...

Doctor : dont worry Mr.bhalla... We will try our best... He said and left the place leaving the devastated Raman behind...

He fell on ground on his knees crying bitterly...

Raman : ishita Agar tumhe kuch hojata toh mein apne aap ko kabhi maaf nahi kar paaonga... Ruhi ko mein kya kahoonga... Please teekh ho jao jaan... Last time itself you promised me that you will not repeat these kinds of stunts again na... Then why did you do this... Please teekh hojao... He recalled the same situation which happened few years ago in their early stage of marriage...

(flashback)...
It was just few days of ishra marriage... They came to Delhi and settled taking a independent house...

Ishita : ufff... Alone with this ravan kumar how will I manage... Papaji bhi hame yahan akele chod kar gao chale gaye...
Murugan please save me from this sadu Kumar...

Raman : Oh hello wahan akele mein kise baat kar rahi ho... Jao... Koi chudail samajh maar na jaaye... Chalo andher.. He said taking her inside thier house that was newly gifted by raman's father from his savings...

Ishita entered the house and was happily looking around the rooms...

Raman was very irritated as he was least interested in, sharing his home, Room and life with her... She was just a unwanted package in his life...

The initial days they would just begin their day with fights and end with fights though it was always cute nokh jok between them... But slowly they became friends teasing around each other...

One day Raman was in very bad mood as it was shagun's death anniversary... It was one whole year of that black day of his life... All his thoughts were filled with shagun...

But unaware of his traumatic mood ishita was way too happy as it was her birthday... Her 1st birthday that is to be celebrated with her husband her best friend ... She got ready in a beautiful red anarkali and stood in front of him...

Ishita : raman aaj hum mandir chalein hai kya... She asked excited like a little kid...

Raman : ishita if you want go alone... Mujhe disturb mat karna... Aaj office mein bahot kaam hai...

Ishita : Oh hello.. Don't try to act that you are busy ok... Aaj sirf mera raz chalega... Today you'll have to just follow my instructions understood... She said making fun of him like always she does unaware of his traumatic mood...

Raman : ishita please... I am not in mood to play around with you...

Ishita : how rude raman... You were the one who told me... I am your best friend... Will you not spare a day for your friend... Kaise dost ho aap...

Raman : ishita mujhe irritate mat karna.. Aaj bohot important meeting hai... He said with a straight face...

Ishita : raman... I know par... Please just for today.. Sirf mandir mere saath chaliye na please... Please pretty please..

Raman : arey bachi ho kya... Ek baar bola toh samajh mein nahi ayega kya... He shouted on top of his voice making her startled...

Ishita : woh aaj...

Raman : aaj kya... Aaj Kisi ka matam banana hai kya... Chahiye toh mera bana dena... It is better to die than to live with you... He said spitting fire... And throwing the file in his hand almost on her face and rushed out of the room...

Tears was flowing uncontrollably from her eyes... He has never behaved like this with her... She knew they were not sharing any such bond of husband and wife... But they have come long way from a stranger to friends... Best friends may be...

Raman : ishitaaa... He shouted from the living room...

She wiped her tears and saw him on the dining table staring at the dishes she prepared...

Raman : yeh kya banaya tumne...

Ishita : raman woh payasam...

Raman : kyun... Kis kushi mein yeh banaya tumne... Subha subha mera mood ka baand baj ke raka hai... Kabhi dekho idly sambar... Iske badle thoda zehar dedo na, kaa ke mar jaaonga toh tum bhi kush rahoge aur mein bhi...

Ishita : raman uss box mein hai...Aapka fav panner paratha... Aur palak panner sab hai... She said wiping the tears that were flowing from her eyes..

Raman : toh tumhi tooso mujhe kuch nahi chahiye... He took his bag and walked out in anger...

Ishita was totally confused for his behavior... She was crying the whole day... She did not have anything... Not even a single drop of water...

She was waiting for him to return from his office atleast then his temper would have reduce... She will tell him that it is her birthday, she was sure that he would apologize for his behavior as he was not the person of that shade which he potrayed in the morning ... As she heard the calling bell she wiped her tears and went to open the door.. But all her hopes were broken in pieces when she saw raman who came fully drunk... loosing his balance ...

She tried to hold him but he stopped her...

Raman : door raho mujhse .. Mein sambal sakta hoon Kud ko... Teri zaroorat nahi hai mujhe, Kisika zaroorat nahi hai mujhe... He pushed her back and went to thier bedroom...

Ishita too locked the door and settled beside him...

Raman switched on the tv and was switching between channels like a manic with a loud volume...

Ishita : raman please volume kam karo... Mujhe need aarahi hai... She said wiping her tears...

Without listening to her he increased the volume even more...

She started crying bitterly..

Raman : rona hai toh bahar Jake ro... Mujhe tv dekhne mein disturb ho raha hai...

Ishita was not able to take his negligence and arrogant attitude anymore... She closed her ears with the pillows but still his rude voice and sharp words were echoing in her mind... Making her burst out loudly...

But raman was least concerned about her...

Finally after minutes he found her cries lessened... He turned off the tv and tried to sleep... He heard a thud noise beside him... He was shocked to see the visual infront of him... Ishita had fallen on the floor with bleeding nose and seizure attack...

Raman looked around for some iron object to place it in her hand... He threw everything In front of him search for some iron object...

Raman : ishita... Tumhe kuch nahi hoga... Mein hoon na... Ishita... Ishita... Sun rahe ho na... He asked patting her cheeks panicking... He took the keys and made her hold it tightly, but Her attack was just growing with seconds... He carried her in his arms and rushed towards the hospital... She was immediately taken to icu...

Doctor : how are your related to the patient...

Raman : am her husband...

Doctor : is this the first time... Ya isse pehle aise hua hai?..

Raman : mujhe pata nahi... He said stammering as he was drunk way too much ...

Doctor : how irresponsible you are.. Is she your wife or not...

Wardboy : doctor woh nashe mein hain...

Doctor : kaisa pati hai tum... Poor girl she has to suffer because of you... She cursed raman and left from there...

Raman realized he had done a huge mistake by hurting her... He washed his face and composed himself and was looking into the icu...

Raman (St): poor ishita... She had to go through so much pain because of me... What is her fault... For who's deeds should I punish her... Shagun mujhe chodke chali gai toh kya hua... Shagun is my past... Par ishita is my present and future... She was so excited in the morning for some reason... But i hurted her through words... How can I do this to her... I was the one who promised her that I will be her best friend and protect her... But today I behaved like an animal to her... No I will never let shagun come in-between us... I will never let anything happen to you ishita... Please mere liye ek baar teek ho jao... Uske baad I will never hurt you even in my dreams...

After long struggle she gained consciousness...

Doctor : excuse me... Your wife is perfectly alright you can meet her now... But it's just an advice from my side ... Please as you are her husband atleast make sure you have some knowledge about her basic medical condition... She said giving him a disgusting look and went from there...

Raman went inside the room with his head down not able to face her...

Ishita : raman... she called him meekly...

Next moment he took her into bone crushing hug and cried his heart out...

Raman : am sorry ishita i should have not behaved like that... Office mein koi tension tha isiliye am sorry, I will never repeat this again he said crying loudly ...

Ishita : raman... Shhh... Shh... It's ok baba...She said patting his back...

Raman : I call you jkr... Iska matlab yeh nahi ki.. You show such stunts scaring me... Dobara aisa karogi toh mardalunga... Samjhi...

Ishita : haan... Ravan kumar ab pata chala sirf baatein nahi... Shock bhi mein doongi...

He parted away from her looked into her eyes apologetically...

Raman : promise me ishita you won't repeat this again...

Ishita : promise baba... Ab rona band karo... She said wiping his tears...

Raman : tum ne mujhe maaf kardiya... He asked like a guiltily little kid...

Ishita : Nahi... She said with a angry pout... Am still mad at you...

Raman : arey kyun... I am sorry na... Tere best friend ko maaf nahi karogi?..

Ishita : no... Mujhe aapse baat hi nahi karni hai... How happy I was in the morning... You ruined my whole special day...

Raman : aisa kya special hai aaj...

Ishita : it is my birthday today Raman... She said with tears...

Immediately tears started flowing in his eyes too...

Raman : ishita... Am really very very very sorry yaar...isiliye mandir... Am sorry mein bhi na bilkul pagal hoon... How bad I am... He was going on cursing himself without any Break...

Ishita : raman... Raman.. Bas baba... It's ok... I know you din't mean to hurt me...

Raman : ishita...Am sorry I have done a great blunder... But trust me... Jo bhi hum aaj karne wale the na.. Sab kuch kal karenge... Tomorrow whole day I will spend with you... No office, no phone calls nothing... We will go anywhere you want to... Mandir, ya park, ya shopping anywhere...

Ishita : sachi raman?... She asked excitedly...

Raman : muchi he said pinching her nose ...

(end of flashback)...

Raman :Please jill... Uss din ki tarah aaj bhi teekh hojao... I will do whatever you want me to do... I know I broke my promise... I promised you that I will never ever let you cry... Tumhe pata haina mein ek bewakoof hoon... Par tum toh samajhdaar ho na... Tumhi ne promise kiya na... Kabhi aisa stunts nahi karoge... Please jill , you don't break your promise baby...

He was continously peeping into the icu room with tears flowing from his eyes uncontrollably...
