She needs to learn how to respect herself, appreciate herself, love herself. Not someone else
Arjun, Samay, Jhanvi - all these are temporary options that only feed fear, rooting it even deeper
She doesn't need anyone's light, she has her own. She just needs to accept it
The rest of the characters in this show also need a lot to learn. Very much, much more than Maya

Well said. Presently she has her light within but she isn't seeing inside of her rather she is going after a person to be secure and feel safe which is due to her insecurities & fears which were results of her childhood.
Se needs to look inside herself & let of few unworthy ppl & even other characters of this show like VM ,saanjh ,arjun Shud learn alot .

The two things that can heal Mya is either to be submissive to her & make her realize what she is doing is wrong & the other way is to play an obsessive drama before her so she can realize her mistakes. Yes, she has to go to the psychiatrist but she has to be accompanied by a responsible person who knows everything about her.

A very skilled psychiatrist.

All the true love jazz is nonsensical. If love was the only solution to everything, one need not to even go to doctors for physical illness.

A mental patient cannot go to a psychiatrist by herself. She needs motivation to go . In Maya's case there is no one to motivate her to take help. People are busy hating her and treating her as garbage.

According to the actor playing the role Maya suffers sociopath syndrome!
And here is an article on the feasibility of medical treatment for persons suffering such disease! (coourtesy:http://www.healthyplace.com/personality-disorders/sociopath/sociopath-treatment-can-a-sociopath-change)

When Treatment For Sociopaths Fails

The unfortunate reality is that at this point, there is no evidence to show that a sociopath can change. Currently, there is nothing that has been proven effective as a treatment for a sociopath. Researchers and practitioners aren't giving up, though. Can sociopaths be cured? Experts hope they can.

In the meantime, professionals advise that the best way to deal with a sociopath is to cut off all contact. Doing so may be the best treatment possible, at least for the non-sociopath.

Exactly...psychiatrist alone would not be able to deal with her...what if she kills him😆 it's a big risk.

Well said! If Maya was male no one would have ever brought up the mental-illness thing!
There are tons of series out there with the male lead being brutal and down right animalistic with how they treat the female lead and i have never heard anyone say they have mental-illness
