A Film like Trapped becomes a disaster at the box office..We say Bollywood doesn't make good films..
Why will Producers give opportunities to talented actors like Rajkumar and greenlight content oriented cinema when the end result is negative,..

Question remains...

How will our cinema ever evolve since the audiences are only encouraging thrash..

I've not watched Trapped yet but TM. You should understand that Indian population consists mainly of middle class families who have a lot of crap to deal with in their lives. So they just watch movies for entertainment, to relax their brains and stay away all the stress. They can't enjoy a depressing movie like Trapped when their lives are already depressing. There is so much of sadness in their lives that even a crap like Ready can make them laugh when the movie only had stale jokes.

Having said that, I think a true movie lover is someone who looks for technicalities in a movie and enjoys all types of genres from masala to art films. But of course, not everyone has to be a true movie lover.

At the end of the day, people can watch whatever they want to watch.

I wanna watch it! 😭
But my parents don't go to theatres... "download karenge" they say! I also imagine that when it's on our computer, it is the release date for me.

I think partly why the movies aren't doing that well is because, lot of people these days are patient enough to download, like us and many of my friends :(

Because the advocates of so called content movies are key-board warriors. They don't buy tickets to see these movies, use them only to pull down commercial movies.

From the trailer it was clear it was a slightly depressing film
Few people will pay to watch a depressing film
where already there is so much depression in life

Nothing to do with content of film
It wasn't advertised or promoted enough for anyone to know about it

I am 100% sure , the masses don't know this film exists...
