I feel both were phenomenal. I am not Alia's fan but she was fabulous as Vaidehi. The movie belong to Vaidehi as much as it belonged to Badri. Although their performances were great, but their chemistry was the main crowd puller. I honestly don't think anyone could had played Vaidehi and created this amazing chemistry with Varun like Alia did.

So for me BKD belonged to both of them. They both shined in their respective roles. 👏

Sad how BKD success is being credited to only Varun

Had Alia not been in lead, film wouldn't have earned half of it.

Its Varia that made what film is not Varun/Alia only

Yeah, never took away the credit from her. Alia was outstanding as Vaidehi. Loved her character.

No, that's not true.. Varun's movies have always made money no matter what. And this was going to be a hit from day 1. Varun has made a place for himself in the industry. That's why despite working with so many actresses in different films, those films have always done well. No exceptions. People go to watch him. Alia definitely also contributed but I don't think it is an equal contribution.

Which Varun film has not done well???

Indeed Alia gets credit but here Varun deserves most credit

Last 3 Alia releases didn't even cross 10cr opening and here Varun's last 3 ventures without Alia all opened more than 10cr now if you wanna credit Shraddha and John bigger star than Varun

It might be because title has badri in it and Varun plays that role. Just like how piku got all the credit while truth is without ab sr the movie falls apart or for barfi RK got more accolades while PC was equally good as jhimli.

Beside from script point of view, Alia's charecter is catalyst to badri's journey towards being better person. Vaidehi's arc was sidelined. This is like Tamasha which was Ved's journey. Tara was catalyst.

And frankly speaking Bollywood needs young male superstars right now. So they are getting more boost. Unfair yes but it is purely business decision...

Completely agree. I have a lot of problems with the actual film, but Alia's role was not a flower pot role. She deserves complete credit for it. It's like saying DDLJ succeeded without Kajol. Wrong ! The female lead deserves equal credit.

It matters especially now since Alia is getting dinged for nepotism. When she gets the blame for that and I admit I do that, she should get full credit for what she is contributing too. And this is a Dharma movie !

Do you see why we have no female superstars now ? If we have misogynistic BO stats even if a female contributes why will we ?

No offense intented but I disagree 😆, ofcourse she deserves some credit its a love-story she is the female lead, having said that the reason why Varun walked away with the film is bcoz of the fact that he actually managed to make audience root for a nutcase male chauvinistic pig of a hero with grey shades making him endearing & relatable.

Sure alia has been praised, but 90% of the legit reviews said that Varun stole the show. Besides he has a 100% success ratio, better opening figures and lifetime while she has given 2 Flops probably that's why trade is going gaga over Vd🤔

And on a general note, no I dont feel even a bit bad for her that the poor girl is barely getting any credit for Badri, coz still remember how badly Randeep hooda was ignored by industry & media as if wasnt even a part of Highway. Thus I dont buy this actresses not getting their due blah..blah...nonsense, its all about the kind of impact you leave with ur performance. Here clearly Vd did.

So yeah I am kinda glad this happened to her 😆
