I know and I agree. However according to bollywood, item songs, bikini, and intimate scenes is what sells no matter how out of context are they. I can name so many movies which could had done just fine without those type of scenes.

I don't have problem with such scenes if they make sense and contribute to the movie. However, its a pain to see them if they are included randomly and make no what so ever sense. Even today, people termed DDLJ and HAHK as iconic love stories. These movie had not a single vulgar scene or item song but Salman Madhuri and SRK Kajol romanced like no other. Chand Chupa Badal Mein, Ankhon Ki Gustikiyaan are iconic romantic songs but they didnt had any vulgar steps or long kissing scenes. We have seen films which have failed with those vulgar scenes, kissing scenes, item songs. Films like Brother, Befikre are perfect examples of that. I guess the better question will be can sex appeal, romance only can be created by incorporating vulgar scenes, item songs, kissing scenes?

If thats true then BKD would not had worked because it didnt had a single lip lock or vulgar scene (correct me if I am wrong)

Sorry Saraa, I would not consider BKD a family movie or a worthy successor to the iconic love stories of BW.
A movie where the Alia character runs away, so the Varun character hunts her down all the way to Singapore and basically kidnaps her and puts her in the trunk of a car. She is shown begging in a meek voice to be let out. And then he pulls over and tries to strangle her and is seen by a Singapore cop doing so. Since she loves him so, does not press charges, bails him and takes him home because after all she ran away and deserves to be put in a trunk and strangled. It is a ridiculous, violent movie and I cannot believe it is called a family movie. My friends and I walked out of it. I cannot believe some thing like this is being filmed and hailed in 2017. So yeah, Alia's character running away is nothing. I am afraid what happens if someone runs away and a stupid groom thinks it is ok to follow the Varun's character method. It is on Alia, Varun, Kjo and the director then.

I would rather the Alia character wear a bikini and the movie had a kissing scene. I would take that over a "clean" movie that has such violent, scary tactics on a woman.
