I think if you are a classical music singer you have a strong identity of your own musically especially internationally among the desi diaspora. As for playback there are 10 or 20 singers who people can identify over the actor.

But I will say again as a person who routinely goes for concerts and shows, the only actor I have seen (emphasis on I have seen) get a standing ovation is Amitabh Bachchan from an audience as he entered. The rest are all musicians, play back and classical ,some thunderous ovations as they enter, end and during. And if people touch a person's feet during a meet and greet it is for singer in my experience. Both adults and kids routinely do that. I am speaking as one who has seen and done that. Singers are revered IME.

in that case shahrukh khan in his good days had the charisma in his concerts i have seen the iner life of srk and the outer life of srk it was duing Main Hoon Na days 😛 but yeah people touch singers feet and give respect sonu with rajeev masand told actors are king in their own field singers are king in their own filed too he says elders touch our feet which one can not see among actors while replying to salman khan statement of a song is popular because we the actors act in it who are these singers demanding royalties .😊

Just listened to tracks that Armaan did for his album. What's up with the recreated versions of classics? They're not particularly good. I'm surprised because I generally like Armaan's voice.

Edit: Iambest- Did Salman really say that singers don't deserve credit for hit songs?!
