What was the point of Rehaan noticing black mark?

What was the point of showing Rehaan noticing the black face paint on harjeet's face? Does it have any significance in the future track? I mean he can't realize that she dressed as beggar, can he? I didn't get that part ..or was it just a time filler?

It will act as a clue in future while connecting dots but hope its not too late for Rehaan

but really it doesn't prove anything bad against her? I mean how is he going to know that she put black paint on her face and dressed as a beggar and gave a poisoned apple to naina?! ..Naina also doesn't know that the beggar was actually harjeet in disguise ...so really can't think of a reason they showed that ..

but if it has some significance, then it might come out soon ..otherwise CVs themselves will forget that they put that part in their script!
