Anushka Sharma Featured in Vogue US Website For her Style

Press tours tend to be as much about fashion as they are about film, and for Bollywood star Anushka Sharma, the slate of appearances and screenings for her latest movie, Phillauri, has provided her the opportunity to test out a series of new looks. Sporting a modern style with a focus on streamlined design and feminine details, Sharma has showcased both established brands like Roberto Cavalli and Burberry and homegrown talent, like Indian label Gauri & Nainika. As likely to show up in a hand-painted Sabyasachi lehenga (as she did during a visit to The Voice India on March 12) as she is in a minimalist gown like the one she wore to the Zee Cine Awards a day earlier, Sharma keeps fans on their toes with each new outfit.

Together with her stylist Allia Al Rufai, Sharma"a regular on the cover of Indian Vogue"seems intent on keeping things interesting. At a promotional event in Mumbai last Wednesday, she opted for an asymmetrical white skirt from Indian label Vizyon paired with a transparent off-the-shoulder top and bright orange Louboutins. At a press conference hours earlier, it was a textured Roberto Cavalli blouse with a pussy bow and sleek trousers. Unafraid to mix high and low, Sharma works in flirty lace slip dresses from H&M or fitted pants from Zara alongside her runway pieces.

Beauty-wise, Sharma favors movie-star statements like dramatic red lips, smoky eyes, and perfectly coiffed hair. But even when she goes for a girl-next-door vibe, she adds glamour into the mix, pairing sky-high Louboutins or retro oversize sunglasses with even the most casual looks. With Phillauri set for release this Friday, Sharma may yet pull off another red-carpet surprise or two. Watch this space.
