I am truly amazed at the attitude of the Praja ... the wonderful citizens of Magadh.
The public of that era shouts slogans to uproot a Samrat !!!!!
The same public who tolerated the tyrant Padmanand,
the same public who suffered all atrocities of the cruel King's reign , not just for a year or two, for so long, as long as Nandini's age,
the public who did not have the courage to speak a word (and probably get killed) in front of Padmanand,
Now have the guts to outrageously approach the Palace doors in huge groups shouting slogans against Chandragupta Maurya ??!!!!!
Hum yavni Mukhya maharani nahi sahenge, nahi sahenge...
Apne bhi maharani Nandini se pratishodh lene ke liye vivah kiya?
Apne maharani Nandini ko jeev samadhi kyon diya?
Apne aapke SIL ko molest kiya?
Aapke judgement hum accept nahi karenge...
Since when did Praja have the guts to shout slogans, raise questions against a King's wise judgements? That too, in 4th century ?
If the public outcry could dethrone a King or malign his reputation or desist him from passing a judgment , why were they silently experiencing the torture of Padmanand till then ?
Public unrest and other such riots could have been brought to the notice of Chanakya, even before the actual public decide to make a morcha to the Palace . Such was his spy network during those days.
Was CGM so soft and naive a King that anyone and everyone could raise a finger at him ? A Samrat, first of his kind, to unite most kingdoms, and brought almost the entire India under one rule, was so strong with his administrative skills and a political strategist .
The recent episodes (molestation case against Chandra, Chanakya acting like a Sauten trying to separate the King from his wives etc.), seem to be maligning the reputation of Chandragupta Maurya and Chanakya and our Indian history as well. Disappointing.
