So in that case I find neither Maya nor Saanjh can be considered as his true love ! Saanjh points out at his flaws but doesn't have that kind of control over him to rectify it! He doesn't give Saanjh that kind of respect also and always makes her do things in his favor ! Saanjh has no control over him... and Arjun needs a girl who can rectify his flaws.
Maya has that control over him.. But her approach will be too suffocating for him later on... Maya bahut zyada hi control karna chahti hai... Some of her methods are also not right! Like when she was sitting in front of him and watching him... I understand she wanted him to work but if a person stares at you that way... how can you be comfortable while working!
Still Maya is a better partner for Arjun if she learns to rectify her flaws and know where she's going overboard and then she will be a perfect match for him... if not then I think if true love is what you said it is... then neither of these girls can be that.

Bingo!!!

At the moment, they are all using one another!! There is love but TRUE Love, No!!

True love will come when Maya stares at the darkness residing at her core and tackles it. True love will come when Arjun falls down and begins to pick up the pieces.

Sanjh is in love with an image of Arjun that she has built over the years, this image has been fed by Suman and Vandana. It is deep rooted and she strongly believes that Arjun is her's... even now, she does not say, duffer.. most of the time it's ' Meri duffer' .. She tends to mark him, brand him as her own.. only when she lets him loose will she find her true love!!

Maya is in love with the man who has been a shield, who fought for her. She considers him to be the man who has successfully prevented the emergence of darkness that could and would engulf her completely. Put simply, she is driven by fear!!! Maya has to overcome her fear to discover her true love!!

Arjun has been and still is the pampered brat. Vandana pampered him, Sanjh pampers him and Maya pampers him. He has got whatever he has wanted without any hard work, thus he does not value it or the person who handed it to him. Only when Arjun will fall down , only when he is bruised, emotionally shattered will he discover his true love...

Definition of true love is very subjective. Each person has a different definition. To me true love is one that set you free, the one that let you be yourself., the one that accept you for who you are. To me control and change is the exact opposite of true love. But then again I am not so sure whether this story has anything to do with who will be Arjun's true love.

@Meet Mirchi though I agree to other parts of your post, I am not sure whether it is about Arjun's true love or it is rather the concept of love for each character. Arjun, Saanjh and Maya. Because each has a definition of love on their own. I feel each will discover the true love that is within themselves. For that everyone has to fall and get up

Absolutely agree, the definition of true love or even love is subjective... ideally, true love should allow you to be yourself, one who accepts you for what you are - having said that, Are we really ourself? or do we remain what we are? Human's change, they evolve or devolve - this does not happen without stimulations... outside forces, stimulus influences you and you change consciously or unconsciously. so is it wrong to be that influence that helps you to evolve? or since I am in love, should I abstain myself from bearing any influence on my partner?

Control is not love, it never was and that's the reason why I say Maya has not found her true love yet... if we are going to pinpoint Maya's love, then it should her Ganesha!! It is only with Ganesha that she bares her soul!

To me, this story is not about love. This story is about characters who plumb the depths, meet their darkness and fight against it. it's a story of redemption and of finding their inner light, some will succeed, some will succumb...

Actually, it's not about love at all... it's about humans, the lengths they will go to acquire something, the boundaries they impose on themselves and how they struggle to stay within this boundary when sorely tempted!!

Beyhadh is about going to the extremes and discovering your strength - those who fail, succumb

Excellent post!!
Viewing the proceedings holistically, would like to state that Arjun Maya and Saanjh are the captives of their respective destiny.
Arjun is over ambitious. He didn't had the calibre to make big yet his aspirations never fell short. Failing miserably in controlling his desire he chose a path, walking on which he is on the brink of getting isolated from his family and friend. Money, power, status and the aggrandisement of Maya propelled him to fall in love with her. Yet unsure whether Arjun is accredited of some emotional investment in Maya's bank or not, on the contrary Maya surrendered herself to Arjun presuming he would fill the void in her life caused by the series of traumatic events..
Maya has been the victim of destiny. Had her father not ill treated and strangulated her childhood she would not have developed the fear psychosis of getting stranded, alone on a deserted path. Arjun and his love could have helped her in healing her wounds. But the recent chain of events, created suspicion in Maya. She is unable to trust Arjun. It's only due to her skepticism that she has started to fake with her husband..
It would be heartening if Arjun and Maya could stop pursuing their hidden agenda and lead a life of simplicity with love and trust in it's base.
