Hello :)

Since there are films made in almost all major regional languages(pardon my ignorance, just incase I'm wrong) ...

What do you think of movies in your regional language in comparison to BW?

What do you think that both film industries could learn, take or lend from one another?

Please let your posts be constructive, no bashing of any film industry 😊

Hey! This is so weird...

Just yesterday I was watching songs of super old south indian movies and wanted to make a topic similar to this one 😃

I wish I could understand the dravidian languages because I just LOVE south indian film songs... especially the classical numbers

PS- Mothertongue in Bengali (I'm from BD) but grew up on 90s BW films so fully understand Hindi. Partially understand Marathi and Punjabi.

Telugu movies are a nightmare. There are few good movies once in a while but they are less in number compared to trash they churn out weekly. I find it irritating to see them remade in Hindi. While the good ones are ignored. Biggest annoyance is the dubbing movies we are bombarded on hindi movie channels. It's really intolerable.

Yes telugu movies used to be so good,now every movie has same template story with different actors.

I'm a Punjabi, Sikh.

Hindi movies with Punjabi character always tend to mix Hindi and Punjabi language together. You can see the comparison in real Punjabi movies by Diljit, Gippy & others and Hindi movie produced by BW. I always feel their language is not in a way it suppose to be.

I very fond of actors playing Sikh character and wearing turban like sardar. Before, there used to be two or three movie in a year with Sardar character unlike now.

I like bengali movies... I don't watch all of them but some off beat art films are beautiful.

I am a punjabi and I feel there is no comparison between bw and punjabi movies.Punjabi movies are fun sometimes but I like Hindi movies more 😳

I grew up in Maharashtra- so Marathi is my mother tongue. There are some really good movies in Marathi right now. This industry is undergoing big time renaissance...

I like Bengali movies. Malayam movies are generally good. I have started watching Kannada movie. U-Turn was quite good. I rarely watch Tamil and Telegu movies. My plan is to watch some Punjabi and Guajarati movies which I have heard are entertaining...
